I have the HD-DVD player and I can tell you that it most definitely does NOT downscale to 480p. The whole copy protection thing hasn't been implemented yet, which is why Microsoft did not include an HDMI port on the drive. It isn't needed at this time. By the time it is needed, there will be a new XBox out or in the works that will support it.
games on shelves for GBC once in while and very rarely a shrink wrapped B&W GB game still turns up.
Have you seen how much Gamestop is downsizing their GC inventory?? The ones near me have hardly anything on the shelves anymore.
on the PS3 are going to look as good as Motorstorm. Everything else is going to be ports from the 360, and since there is no real perceived difference between those games, then people are going to buy the cheaper system.
Read it more closely. Microsoft is only covering repairs for those that THEY deem to have been caused by the update. In the case of VGA users, how will they ever see an error message on their screens, when they can't see their screens!! Microsoft broke more machines than they are admitting to.
You can play Rally X if you have Ridge Racer for the PSP. It loads ahead of Ridge Racer and you can play as long as you want to.
about the guys over at WiiLi who devised a way to use the WiiMote as a mouse pointer. If this company decides to market their device as a mouse replacement for the PC, it is not unreasonable to assume that the WiiMote becomes competition for them because of the hack that allows it to be used as a mouse replacement. Many people would buy or use the Wiimote they already own as a mouse pointer, taking sales away from these people. The similarities in those instances, may be just close enough to ...
but least supported gaming platform because of all the legacy tech that is still in use. Consoles are easy to develop for because out of the box, they are all the same. When programming a PC, you have to be careful not to alienate too many people by marketing only to those with the most powerful systems, so you have to include options in lower resolutions and the ability to turn off features in order to keep frame rates up on older hardware.
it can't take all the credit for knocking Sony out this round. If Sony had gone with DVD-9, they likely could have launched in the Spring like they originally intended with good production numbers and been price competitive with the 360 and made a real fight of it. Blu Ray caused their launch to be delayed and understocked and made the consoles too expensive to be competitive. There will be some nice games for PS3 and a lot of movies released exclusively on Blu Ray, but there just aren't enou...
Nintendo managed to underdeliver for the European launch. A lot of places won't even be able to fill their pre-orders. This is a case where the guys camping outside of stores that didn't do pre-orders had a better shot at getting one than people who ordered months ago. Supposedly there will be more by Christmas, but stores that did pre-orders will likely get preference on those, assuming the lorry doesn't get hijacked.
that was the Blue Dragon bundle that was pre-sold and there was only 10k of them. Of course places like Play Asia don't help to convert Japanese to the 360 when they buy them up and sell them outside of Japan.
Keep giving those 360 games good reviews. We'll convert those Japanese yet.
I hate "boutique" computers. You can build one yourself that is very nearly as powerful for a helluva lot less money than they charge. That little 2% of extra oomph they give you surely isn't worth the thousands of dollars more that you pay them for it.
It was Toshiba, NEC and Sanyo that were the primary partners in developing HD-DVD, not Samsung.
Also, there is another news article here that states Sony has developed a new technology to compete with LCD and plasma screens. They must not have very much faith in that LCD partnership with Samsung if they now feel the need to compete with them with something new. My advice to Samsung is to watch their backs when dealing with Sony. I keep reading about the billions of dollars being in...
10 million shipped is not quite the same as 10 million sold. While I agree with the figure of 8 million plus sold, that other 2 million consists of store and warehouse stock and units in transit and we won't really know if they got sold through until after Microsoft releases their December sales figures. It is very likely that they will meet their goal, though.
Is anybody here a notary public??
Sony comes out with yet another technology to torture and confuse us with.
all the things on that list, PS3 can't do more than one of them at a time, so the only real choice is 360.
are USA only, not worldwide.
Computer AI has come a long way since those earliest 360 games. I would much prefer a game where I can wander away from my squad to do something stealthy and trust that they are going to cover my a$$ rather than have to move through a scenario in little baby steps because my AI 'buddies' wander off to places they shouldn't or get themselves trapped and killed or do something stupid that causes the enemy to rain fire down on all of us.
