It CAN run the game with 150,000 poly s for the main character, but not if they want to run it without LODs and with advanced shaders. killing LODs and improving shaders meant a reduction in polygons for the main character (which was so high, the rewards were diminutive), and the result is a better looking game. killing the LODs likely means a higher overall polycount, so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.
It's all free for the first year... no clue how much the subscription would cost after that... If it takes you a year to get in shape after p90x and insanity, you should see a healthcare professional :)
Except the game looks better than it did at e3
The problem is, there was no downgrade, just a shifting of graphical resources that resulted in a better looking game?
Why are folks upset about the decreased poly count on the main character (which is so absurdly high that the reduction won't be noticed), but not happy with the removal of LODs and the improved shaders. It's a graphical improvement!
You do understand the difference between giving a progress report on a work in progress and lying don't you?
Since e3, crytek has made the game MORE VISUALLY IMPRESSIVE by trading some polygons on the main character (which was overkill and a waste of power) for the complete removal of LODs and better shaders. By removing LODs they may have even upped the overall polygon count. This should be considered an upgrade if anything.
I can't tell if you're serious or trolling...
You have absolutely no idea what kind of trade offs are being made daily to make infamous look so good. Development is fluid. Crytek's mistake here was giving it too much information about the development process to people who have no idea what it takes to make good looking visuals.
These are the same folks who see and improvement in a games graphics, and call it a downgrade because an obscure value is now lower...you don't know what your talking about.
Maybe your right, but i have no idea how to change gauge the age of a troll. It seems to me there just as many gamers 25+ as there are younger, and Sony seems to have the older fan base.
What am i making up? Are you saying there were no Sony fanboys when the original xbox came out?
Are you saying that the those who vowed to never pay for online play are aren't going to bite the bullet?
Are you saying that Microsoft's online fees didn't result into a stable unified experience, free of month long outages and wide spread security breaches, and will now bring dedicated servers and game streaming in the future?
No doub...
All of those fears are completely unwarranted. The wii took a shot at the casual market, but in terms of core experiences, it still had the same content Nintendo has always been known for. You can't say they lost focus when Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Pikmin, Pokemon, etc were still the main stays. Core gamers were so unreasonably upset at the mere presence of casuals, that they convinced themselves that they weren't getting any attention.
Kinect had nothing to do with Cor...
No man, in this case, the term 'hardcore' has nothing to do with the mature content found in games. It has to do with the depth of the gameplay, and the craftsmanship instilled in the overall experience.
Folks who bemoan casual games do so because they feel they are overly simplistic, and generally aren't artistically satisfying. Hardcore gamers they unreasonably fear that since casual games are financially viable, the industry will lose focus on making good core ...
Essentially, Microsoft failed to 'lock the door' allowing people access to content they shouldn't have. A few people, noticing Microsoft's lack of security, broke an written agreement they had with Microsoft and took things in a way that violated licensing.
Obviously, this isn't an equivalent to home invasion and robbery. That's why they are being banned and not thrown in jail.I'm simply comparing moral principles (don't take advantage of peopl...
When the original xbox came out the Sony fans said it's not power that matters most is the games. When 360 came out, detractors said it's online offerings were over priced. When the PS3 launched more expensive and with less impressive games than the competition, the promise was that its unique hardware will pay off later in the generation when developers get a handle on it.
Fast forward to today, where that the Xbox live revenues have clearly paid off in the form of a...
In reading the article, you'd see that the comparisons to gta started and ended with the fact that both games take place in an open world with layered simulations.
Anyone with eyes can see that this title can stand in it own two feet.
ps, ubisoft want drawing the comparison to gta, the author was, who also compared it to minority report, assassin's creed, and dark souls 2
1) it's a little far from release to be judging pre sales. People may still be unsure which sku they will buy, waiting for console bundles, etc. A better indicator would be the hits articles get, social media attention and the queues at consumer trade shows.
2) games don't need to be multiplatform to be most eagerly awaited. There are quite a few first party titles that build plenty of anticipation. Even folks who own other consoles await the arrival of the big ones....
It really boils down to preference. I prefer the offset sticks because for the games I play (shooters, action, racing), rarely do i take my thumb off of the left stick. On the 360 controller, the left thumb rests naturally on the left stick. On the ds3, i have to hold my hand in a 'c' shape to reach the stick, which isn't very comfortable.
Conversely, the ds3, puts the dpad under the left thumbs natural position. People that grew up on playstation are used to usin...
Are you people incapable of reading? The promotions were region specific. Folks were socially engineering their way into marketplaces they didn't belong in. It's fraud and an obvious violation of terms of service. It's not the same as taking advantage of a glitch, it's systematically working to circumvent local licensing agreements and laws.
Sure Microsoft could have done things to prevent this, but to say these people don't deserve bans is like saying tre...
The thing people are forgetting is that the device will be compatible with different types of input. If you have a 360 controller, a stream controller, and a kb/m setup, you're good to go in every way imaginable.
I'm not sure why people are still calling this a downgrade when it looks better than before...
They took away from the poly count, but upgraded the shaders. That's called a trade off, not a down grade.
The skin and metals look much more realistic, and they allegedly removed LoD. The only disappointment here is no native 1080...
What?!?! Depending on the graphical detail of the title having LODs can totally kill immersion when the fidelity of characters changes with distance. I'll take no LODs and shaders over a couple thousand polygons the human eye wouldn't be able to discern anyway.
It's funny, some of the only gripes people had with the graphics over the old build was the appearance of pop in. The developers fix it, and folks still complain.
