I couldn't agree more with this article. GtaV, a core experience, is the biggest entertainment event in history, clearly core gamers are getting enough attention. The industry is constantly growing... this growth is good for everyone, especially core gamers... I don't understand the moans and groans anytime a company does something to widen their fan base. There's no reason they can't handle making core experiences and casual experiences. As a core gamer myself, i find myself o...
U think people are reserving hype for when the game is closer to release. We really haven't seen that much of it.
It will be a huge hit, you can count on it.
Chances are, they'll make a killing on core and casual games, just like the 360..
Actually, it doesn't mean that at all. It means that, like most launch games, they haven't mastered the nuances of the console and, as a result, haven't achieved perfect optimization.
Do you think a developer ever makes a game and says ' let's just use 50%' of the power'? All games use 100%, but as time goes on developers learn how to code more efficiently.
How would you roll one?
Looks pretty good. If they continuously add new workouts over time, it could be worth the subscription beyond dec 2014. My wife would like to have Zumba on there, but that seems like a stretch since they make their own kinect games.
I'd like it to have in depth Smartglass support / companion app so that you can track your progress and food intake on the go.
Unbelievable how stupid some people are here. Developers always use 100%. Do you think a developer is going to put it a game that uses %50 of the consoles power.
Over time, developers figure out how to better utilize the systems power... that's why last of us, looks so much better than uncharted. They always use 100%, it's just a matter of how that %100 is used.
Whatever man. Different stroke for different folks. people who use this and are dedicated to their work out plan aren't looking for quick fixes. My wife is a personal trainer, and we know plenty of folks who turned their lives around with diet and home based exercise, like insanity.
You should speak for yourself.
@UltimateMaster
I don't think very many people would buy an Xbox specifically for this game, but Microsoft is positioning it as a device the whole household will have a use for.
Sure the Xbox is purchased for little Timmy, but mom and dad can use it to exercise, and they don't have to pay because Timmy already has live (which now covers the whole household)
"Microsoft's demonstration included a Windows Phone with a Xbox controller attached through an accessory"
That's the best solution as they already have attachments that can work with most cell phones. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a iPhone controller styleperipheral eventually
So they dropped the poly count (still very high) in exchange for more shading, creating a better looking game, and the anti Microsoft fanboys see it as a downgrade....
There comes a time where the effects of more polygons isn't worth the cost because it's unnoticeable... it's better to that power elsewhere.
Hmmm....
I have no problem with the micro transactions what so ever. It's about value. Compared to other games, gta5 it's worth the $60 bucks for its single player alone, so why should i care that they want to make a little extra money for their online portion?
I don't understand this notion that all games are created equal and should have the same business models.
Besides, the vast majority of players are going to avoid the micro transactions altogether. ...
So you're saying that not limiting it to Windows phone is 'ridiculous', but they'll have to branch beyond their proprietary line in order for it to work well...
Which is it?
My take, MS has already released xbox music and xbox smartglass on all mobile platforms. Their goal here would be to sell xbox live subscriptions to as many console owners as possible, regardless of what type of phone they use, then offer enough perks to convince a convers...
Can't say this is a bad deal, but the words unlimited and limited shouldn't be used in the same sentence... MS will figure this pr thing out one day...
How? Through piracy? There's no way you could purchase P90x, insanity, a heart rate monitor, and a person to critique your form for a year with just $60.
Except the facts that,1) KI is not clunky the controls are very responsive, and at 60fps, there is no latency, critical in a fast paced combo driven game 2) you don't play as a God in Ryse, even in gladiator mode. You play as a gladiator (hence the name of the mode) You choose a god to worship and are rewarded by that god with power-ups. There are occasional graphical glitches, like texture pop in and animation glitches, but the models and textures are unarguably next gen.
Can't trust this hands on, KI is far from clunky, DR3 is 30fps, not 60, you don't play as a roman god in ryse, and its graphics are regarded by many as some of the best at next gen launch. I'm interested in Kinect Sports, but it can't possibly be the most exciting thing he saw that day. This guy is uninformed, and weird,
This will be a huge hit... Horrible commercial though...
These commercials vary in quality, this one sucked, but the tank one was pretty awesome... I like the campaign overall because it shows how varied matches can be in bf when compared to other military shooters.
