I think your missing the point of their tech demo. It was more or less to show that they already have the infrastructure to stream their existing catalog to other devices. The fact that they can stream a 360 game to a windows phone likely means they can do the same to any other device... perhaps an xbox one, or an iphone5s.
Good thing kinect is able to recognize who is talking and filter out extra noises and voices from anyone other than the guy with the controller.
Not to mention there is a delay to give users a chance to cancel such commands.
Right, I'm not saying you shouldn't be skeptical, I'm saying I wish folks wouldn't be completely dismissive. You saying you want to see how it works in real people's homes is different than saying it will never work and is dead on arrival.
I wish people would be open to giving this thing a chance. It's a truly impressive peice of tech and in normal conditions (I.e. not in a convention hall) its been performing exceptionally well. Folks who claim it has no use in core games obviously have not been paying attention to games like D4 and Project Spark. Even fighter within is coming along surprisingly well.
Give it a chance. Since its in every box, its safe to assume developers will find more uses for it than ju...
The cloud will do little to directly affect graphics, however the indirect benefits of offloading certain tasks are well documented. It's fact that many frame rate issues are due to CPU issues, not GPU.
Lol Microsoft isn't forcing it down anyone's throat. Those who don't want it won't buy the console.
Apparently, lots of people are planning on buying the console.
I thought dead rising was dull too, until they have dr2 away for free to live subscribers. It's a fantastic franchise and I wish i had known so sooner. Dr3 loss to have addressed all of the issue i had with previous games and it is well deserving of the hype.
Killer Instinct was much loved back in the day. If you like fighters, their no way you'd think this revival is dull.
I hated the metro look until i got my hands on a Windows phone. I now use win8 launcher on my Samsung galaxy.
There's nothing cluttered or confusing about it one you get your hands on it. I'm sure it will ultimately be well received
Another interesting use of Kinect.... keep em coming...
Your assessment is very shortsighted. Sure there are people who don't want or care for the Kinect and the extra $100 it currently calls for, but demand for the xbox one is such that it well sell through for quite some time anyway.
Developers will have 6-9 months after launch to demonstrate titles that actually use Kinect in ways that justify making the purchase, and by that time, Microsoft will undoubtedly have other ways to increase the value proposition (bundles, xbox ...
I've always loved metal gear, but have always hated the clunky, cumbersome controls... I'm glad for the changes
I love Zelda, but I doubt a remake of a 10 year old game, that wasn't much of a system seller, will compel folks to buy the Wii u.
You aren't correct. His definition does not imply that EA and Ubisoft are indy studies.they aren't even studios, they are publishing companies. Those publishing companies have in house studios (which aren't independent), and also work occasionally work with independent studios to bring their titles to market.
Microsoft's definition is no different that the true definition. An indie is a studio that develops a game free of influence from an outside financier.
This will be one of many... Kinect included with the box will give these Kinect controls the exposure needed to lure more developers to use the device in creative ways.
I, for the life of me, don't understand what people have against ads/recommendations...
Its not like commercials pop-up and interrupt the experience. On the 360, I have yet to sit through an ad that I did not request, and I don't see the inconvenience of being informed about deals on titles I might be interested in...
I've downloaded quite a few titles that I love, that I wouldn't have known about without recommendations... I don't see how that'...
With kinect in every console, and accessible to all developers I expect to see plenty of creative motion control implementations. Sure it's a tough pill to swallow at launch, but kinect will offer experiences that appeal to the core, as seen here.
The best thing about this game is that content is shared between the win 8 versions and the Xbox version. You can create something on your pc, then instantly test it on your xbox one. The folks who have both will be the ones who have the best experiences.
Lol at folks taking any chance to bash ms. They don't ban people playing legit copies, just pirated copies.
You can.
I still have two launch 360 controllers... I don't know anyone who shares your experience.
