If you look at it on a weekly basis (or monthly, w/e these charts are), then sure, 360 is looking great compared to PS3! Get the total numbers though, and MS has a lot of work left to do, and lagging 4k behind isn't going to bring them closer to even.
He claims to use 2 in the article, read the end :P
"the only reason PS3 owners hype it is because they have never had a chance to play a decent FPS"
So everyone who owns a PS3 has never played an xbox or PC game before? Yeah, that sounds totally legitimate. I won't even ask to see where you came up with such a wild implication. I'll just believe it, because I'm that nice of a guy.
"Eventhough its been seen before the fact that they PERFECTED it [cover system] to such lenght made it innovative"
"What it seems like is Rockstar releasing half the game on both consoles and releasing the rest of it on one exclusivly. Oh well."
What it IS is that MS paid Rockstar $50 million for exclusive DLC. It's also not "half the game," it's an expansion / DLC. It's not a big deal.
Except for fanboys and hardcore GTA fans obviously.
"so I was expecting this *private demonstration* to go beyond that and perhaps hint at some new information."
It was a privately shown video, he was just referring to it.
MS can tell any dev out there "You can not get permission to post this DLC unless there is a fee and we get a cut." Nintendo and Sony can do this too (*GASP*). You may not want to believe it, but it's not that far fetched. I remember Bungie complaining about Halo map packs costing money because of MS policy.
1) He says that this has been done before. True, but a game has never truly been marketed solely for it's level editor. There's the big difference. It's not a tacked on build, it's the game's essence (originally, there was no plan for a SP campaign, ya know.)
2) It may take time and effort to create a level, but that's not it; It'll be fun.
The emphasis throughout is on enjoyment rather than speed. “We’ve put the priority on making the game fun to use,” says Evans ...
So I should complain about a lineup that stretches into the new year? Hmmm, I guess I really shouldn't look forward to Heavy Rain, White Knight Story, God of War 3, blah blah blah.
Fine, I'll look forward to Disgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles, LBP, R2, MS:PR, blah blah blah.
Either way I win ^.^
"real shooters with actual gameplay stay on xbox."
CoD 4 is on PS3, Bioshock is on its way, and Gears is on PC. You have Halo 3 though, and for all I care, you can keep it.
Gah, I'm glad I'm a patient man. If I was like some people online, I'd get a heart attack from all this stress o.O
You can just look at a calender and find out ^.^
Each level is not 2 gigs, that was a mis-interpretation. The length varies per level, but each is 45+ minutes.
Jesus, people are way too sensitive about "fanboys." If we call everyone with an honest opinion a "fanboy," then I'm going to go crazy.
Except I have Freshman Orientation for college tomorrow... at 11:30 am >.<
In fact, we spent less than three months to put the demo together from scratch, which includes developing the PS3 engine, writing the script, making the auditions to find the actress, defining the Mo-Cap techniques and doing some basic R&D for the tongue and hair.
Initially, this demo was a purely internal technical prototype that was not supposed to be shown outside the company.
Sony saw our work-in-progress and asked us for the permission to show it in its boot...
It's the natural evil that EA leaks. It rubs onto the players and curses them.
^ I like that.
Overall, it seems like it's just too early to judge the game. I'll judge it myself in the beta though.
Wanna know who's with you? Look under the bridges...
I don't think it makes much of a difference (a spike is a spike), but we'll see.
