"It would sell like alcohol!"
That would sound really lame though. It sounds cooler to use an illegal drug (although it SHOULD be legal :/)
When have they not? 2.41 (for instance) was an update that the fans chose. The things people talked about most were put in. One easy example is the clock. Nobody at Sony suggested it, they just listened to the fans.
L.A. Noire. It's exclusivity isn't set in stone, but for the moment it counts.
White Knight Story is also coming out. Hopefully it's as good as it seems.
Yeah, I think it would be a real missed opportunity to not announce it at TGS. That's assuming it's released in '09 though. Even if they give us a little taste to get an idea of what to expect, then I'd be happy.
With Home it was a release date coming soon. With this there is an announcement coming soon. It's MUCH easier to announce a game then to deliver an app. I wouldn't doubt this info.
I know what you mean. I'm on a job hunt right now >.<
"and violence, while certainly an option, was frowned upon in-game."
I just think that that's a terrible reason. If you can do it, then it counts toward the rating, no matter what the game wants you to do. Metal Gear Solid 4 rewards stealth, yet you get dozens of lethal weapons to go a'murderin'.
"So while the single-player could still use some more innovation, the developers are clearly putting all that and more into the multiplayer component, *which is easily one of the most promising online experiences on the PS3.*"
STUPID HALO 3 FANBOY. HE THINKS HALO IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN KZ2. IT MAKES ME SOOO MAD! GAH WHY ARE PEOPLE SO UNFAIR TO KZ2.
Why don't you read the whole thing and take it for what it's worth: Praise AND criticism.
If you...
"Why does Killzone 2 have to be different from all other first person shooters."
Wild guess: It's PS3 exclusive. I swear, if Halo 4 is linear and people say "it'll be so cinematic /gush" then I'm going to be very mad at the double standard. Hopefully that's not the case, because I'll be *very* disappointed with some parts of the gaming community for that.
AI has been dumbed down. I can't believe I still have to tell this to people. They don't need to fix it, they just need to show it so people stop complaining. If I may quote a KZ2 dev: "Judge us on the final product." That's after implying that the AI is good enough (he's said it more than once though).
They've worked with some top notch AI programmers. The FR issues are because they haven't optimized the code (which comes last, basically).
Pretty much, ev...
Glad I could help you then.
By the way, I'm wearing an Enjoi Patchwork Panda shirt right now :D
Or a PS3 and PC (and Wii if you really want). I'd rather save the few hundred on the console and the yearly payments to miss out on a few exclusives that I don't want. I can still buy Mass Effect, Gears, Alan Wake, etc.
I'll be honest and say I'm really jealous of Fable 2 (as long as it doesn't disappoint like 1 did, but I'm confident in it), but I'm not forking over hundreds to play it. I won't be surprised if it comes out on PC later though, which would be really great for me....
Despite the flaws in your arguments, I'll gladly agree with you.
"come Christmas time we will see who will sell more.....hummmm for my little kid $200 or $400..what will parents go with"
Ok. 360 gets all the "little kid(s)," and PS3 gets everybody else. I'll go for that. Don't be modest, you made a great point for your vastly superior system.
People can't make mistakes anymore? I understand you all hate Kotaku, but it's like a conspiracy theory now.
This may not be the most important game to us gamers, but overall, it probably is the most important. Everyone* can enjoy it. Everyone* can get emotionally involved in it.
*Everyone only includes people who are old enough to play it (based on rating).
13 was never 100% exclusive. SE complained about PS3 back in Winter '07, and pretty much hinted at multi-plat. The trialers never had the word "exclusive" in them. It was "for PS3" since the beginning, but eventually, it was also "for 360."
With that in mind, I believe SE. Also, do you really believe that they would lie about this, then say "actually yes, FFXIII on 360 in Japan." It doesn't really seem logical.
It's just an easy question to ask. Which goes for MGS4 on 360 as well. Of course the answer is obvious (and has been for each for a while, relatively), but they ask anyway.
Go down there if you've never been to an event like PAX. That way you'll have a new experience under your belt, and you'll make me jealous :'(
I'm really excited for TGS. Sony may not be making heads roll at every event, but they're definitely being relentless with what they do show.
The key word in your comment is "before." There have ALWAYS been casual games floating out there, but now the Wii has introduced the casual market to those games. When someone thinking "the Wii sure looks family friendly" sees EyePet, they may think "the PS3 sure looks family friendly."
By the time this game comes out though, HDTVs are bound to be more affordable, and I'm sure the parents would love to try out their fancy-pants TVs with some Blu Ray...
