Sony didn't secure FFXIII because they're not concerned with 3rd party devs right now. They're proving the power of the PS3 through 1st and 2nd party games.
Also, Versus was always the one I was more interested in. It's actually changing the FF formula AND it's made by the KH team. Pure win.
Final Fantasy 13 Agito was a mobile phone game. They had to cancel it when they realized they were spending too much money on their other projects.
I'm pretty sure it won't be a FFVII remake, but then again I was DAMN sure the Blizzard splash page wasn't Diablo 3. I was CERTAIN that FFXIII was PS3 exclusive. I thought 256 players on a console was impossible...
This generation of gaming has taught me something: You can never be sure.
saaaaaaaame. I'm going to use that word tomorrow somehow... probably to describe KZ2 ^.^
EDIT: This is meant for the guy's comment under me. I misclicked :'(
They say they HAVE video of the gameplay... and post a video... yep they didn't imply anything.
"As for some video, we did manage to get our hands on a SHORT clip of gameplay before NDA’s were signed…we mean short."
The Casting tech demo is why this game is hyped. It showed in 2006 what was possible with emotions in next gen consoles. That demo had a virtual actress... act. Her facial expressions and the mo-cap in general were breath-taking. It's a step forward in story telling in video games, and people can see that. There ya have it.
PS2 + PS3, you have some extra cables and clutter, but a lot more money with this option. It's not a big deal to have 2 systems, so don't try to make it sound like you or your friends CAN'T go this way.
I guarantee that there will be glitches.
How do we know Versus is better looking eh? Tell me this, which parts of the Versus trailer were in-game, and which were CG? No tricks, there is in-game footage, and good luck figuring it out.
KH3 is going into development right after FFVXIII is done. So, not for a very long time.
Ummmm. "Get over it" doesn't fix things like this...
Heavy Rain WAS shown to the public... back in '06. I'm really interested as to what this game is though...
Ooh, Iron sites with L2 and fire with R1, that sounds so crazy but I just picked up my controller to see how it would feel, and it's not all that bad. I can't wait to try that in-game to really know though :D.
I was actually thinking about Mad World right now. It surprised me that Reggie didn't mention that for the core gamer.
I know why he didn't show it at the press conference though, and that's because he didn't want to upset the (grand)mothers and little kids.
I agree with you. I wonder why more devs don't build engines from the ground up. Maybe they don't really know how to?
I like how Quantic Dream made the "The Casting" tech demo in 3 months; and this 3 months includes building an engine, casting an actress, writing the script, etc.
I don't think I even have any games built on UE3 because of how many times I've played games using it at friends' houses.
There's been talk going around about the higher AI levels. Your partner's AI was so high that he could single-handedly beat the level, so they had to tone that down a lot. Also, people have reported that the AI has done some pretty clever things, such as using grenades and flanking maneuvers in advanced tactics.
The reason GoW3 in-game footage wasn't shown was already commented on by Jack Tretton and Steven Rohdes. They've both said that they just wanted to give us a taste of a game and to formally announce it. They want to keep is in suspense.
Same with MAG since they've toyed with the idea since they put 150 people in R1 to see how it would work. They are now beta testing internally, so those games can come out in 09. Not saying they will, but you should understand what a teaser is. I...
If you see a Penis Level you can take a screenshot and send it in. Once it is flagged it is taken down until reviewed. Serial flaggers will also get in trouble if they falsely accuse levels of inappropriate material.
I would give all of these games a 1/10. They were way to short and seemed unfinished. Gears 2 gets a 10/10 for effort though. /sarcasm
I like GR since they're articles (not the ones that can be affected by bias / opinion too much) are hilarious and creative. This one sucked balls though.
FF7 is already (on it's way?) on the Japanese PSN store. They said it would shock the audience, not just make them happy.
