Every time Sony or Nintendo have a big hit, Microsoft has to remind us that they're still reverent. I'm sorry to say this, but that $600 console is completely irrelevant at this point. People don't want every new release to be something they already played four years ago. We want something new. It doesn't even have to be the greatest game ever made...just...something.
While it may have been a cool idea to expand the console capabilities of the xbox to bring ...
I don't qualify this article as journalism, more like a blog post. Sounds to me like they really don't understand how games are made or their expectations were much too high for game in a pre-alpha state.
"Journalist", come back to the game when it's in beta.
I've been in this situation before as a developer. It's difficult to put in words how much this effects you mentally/emotionally. Obviously, not everything is going to a be success, but when you dedicate thousands of hours into the development of a game, only to have it ripped from your grasp and thrown away in front of your very eyes, it hits hard man.
Only ones worth ordering imo are I, III or VI (depending on the country), VII, VIII, IX, X(only for blitzball), XII (to enjoy the gambit system)...and there you go. No need to order them all.
1. VII
2. III or VI
3. IX
4. VIII
5. XII
6. X
If you're curious where I'd add XV, that would go between positions 5 and 6. While it was beautiful to look at, the story was rushed, the combat was confusing and not a...
Games are complex to build man. I'm surprised more games aren't delayed..or not announced at all until their nearing gold.
ok... cool story bro.
...they should have already finished development by the time the console was pushed out to consumers..
I'd love to see it turned based, but if they do something like what Ni No Kuni did with their combat, I'd be okay with that too.
Digital distribution is killing retail stores. But here's a fair warning; look at Desura. Once a great place to support indie developers and their games, it is now dead along with everything people purchased.
That is the risk we run when we go digital.
Hope you guys enjoy it! Sounds like it's been a while.
If this game has the amount of crafting depth as the others, I'll buy it, no questions asked.
Why are you guys bringing up a game that's like 8 years old? ...Move on man.
... it's cardboard. If I bought this, my 1 year old would attempt to eat it as my three year figures out how to break it down.
I'm sure there's a handful of people who didn't enjoy it, but everyone else in the world seemed to.
The only thing that truly bugs me about this game is the lack of music. I know it was a design choice, but I wish that I could use my "map thingy" to tune into a zelda radio or something haha. Enemy variety could have helped as well, but the tower placement and dungeon designs kind of make up for it.
I was excited for this game, but there are so many great games coming out this year without the hands of EA all over them. And then after the whole EA/NFS/Star Wars debacle, I could care less what they publish. I have a soft spot for BioWare and hope they do well, but they just aren't what they used to be.
The question is, can you defeat Ornstien and Smough on a switch?
So you drive a bike, a quad, a hatchback, and a giant truck through the desert? What's not to like!
Focus on great games. They've been doing a fantastic job so far and it looks like 2018 might be even better. The whole 4K/VR thing is good and all, but graphics aren't what make a game good. Sure, it helps entice you to start playing, but it's not why I go back to FFVII every year.
However, they need to get an actual online system up and running to talk with friends with text/talk capabilities, improve the eShop (pretty bare bones atm), and at least allow us to ...
You'd be surprised how much assets are re-used but just remapped/reconfigured/re-textu red. It's been going on for decades now, but developers are very good at hiding the fact that it's the exact same model, but could be slightly modified and/or re-textured to give the appearance that it's actually a new object.
ditto.
