I feel you brother. I plan on the 3080ti/3090, building a whole new pc, and syncing it to my 65" cx oled with the intention to utilize it only for gaming. I'm probably going to go with a 10900k although there is a thought to wait for rocket lake and pcie 4.0 boards, but I don't believe the 4.0 gains will be worth the investment for a few years, plus the 4.0 nvme ssd's will be stupid expensive for minimal gains in the short term.
I respect the game, and no doubt it's a technical achievement and marvel, but it's a niche product that doesn't appeal to the masses. There is nothing at all wrong with that, I applaud it. But as stunning and technologically adept as it may be, this type of game has an uphill battle to win goty.
It's almost September and the series x is supposedly launching in November, yet we have seen zero gameplay running on the "most powerful console ever created".
Hey Phil......your "approach" sucks.

I did better. I won the fields medal.

Example...you're playing an fps, single or multiplayer, and you're approaching the edge of a building by a cross street. Normal non ray traced gameplay, you peek your head around the corner, exposing yourself to threats because that is your only option. Ray traced game design has a strategically placed car glass or adjacent store shop window across the street s that you catch the glint of sunlight reflecting in, letting you look at the window of the car to see the co...
I'm building out a new pc with ampere card for Cyberpunk, and will buy a ps5 at launch. I will also get gamepass to play xbox games I missed out on because I skipped xbox one this gen, but Microsoft has lost me on the hardware front. I was fully intending to buy a series x when they first announced it, but since then it seems everything has gone downhill for them. My biggest concern for the series x is that unlike the ps5, we have seen zero gameplay running on series x hardware. It...
I used to play nba live and madden a lot. I would buy them every year. I started playing 2k, but I really don't like the direction 2k or madden has taken over the years, and I haven't bought either version since 2010. Unless these series change drastically moving forward, I doubt I'll ever go back.
@dazzysima
You say you don't care about ray tracing, but it makes an enormous difference in not only image quality, but it also has the potential to change gameplay. I think gamers who haven't experienced ray tracing may not fully understand the difference it can make but it really is an enormous difference. Of course, you'll get much more out of it on pc than you will on console, but I digress.
For me personally, it was God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Zelda Breath of the Wild. I haven't played some other popular titles, like Bloodborne or The Witcher 3, so I can't speak to those, but of the games I've played those three have been the ones that stood out the most to me.
@bathyj
There is no way Microsoft could do that....they might as well give up the ghost and fold their gaming division. The real problem for them is they started development with the intention of having the game be playable on the og xbox one. The most extreme step I could see them taking is to scrap the xbox one version, break down what they have, and start to develop specifically for the series x.....but I would estimate that will take perhaps a year and a half, two years maybe? ...
You don't say.....I never would have thunk it.
Phil Spencer keeps talking, but the more he talks, the less sense he makes. He equates the console situation to pc, but the fact is that even for pc, developers give a recommended minimum spec necessary for the game to run effectively. The entire point is if that minimum spec is a weak even in 2013 when it released jaguar cpu, as it is in the xbox one and ps4, you're severely hamstrung right from the beginning of your...

I have a use case for the monstrosity...originally, I was going to buy both ps5 and series x, but instead I'm going to buy a ps5 at launch and build out a new pc with a 3080ti/3090 card and get game pass for xbox games. Cyberpunk is looking so damn good I can't help myself. I want to push the graphical fidelity, ray tracing, and framerate as much as possible with Cyberpunk, knowing that I will get the most out of it on pc, with mods. With dlss the ability to use a lo...
@neogamer
Yes, but also notice it is the only console in that display sitting on it's stand....the series x also has a stand, but it is not shown in this display. The ps5 is still the largest, but if you imagine the image without the stand and sink the ps5 to match the lower level of the other consoles in the image, the difference is a little less drastic.
@speak....truth
You're getting all twisted up and hung up on the wrong thing. You're making an issue of something because you feel overwhelmed due to there seeming to be many more Sony supporters than Microsoft supporters. Step outside of that and be honest with yourself....there was zero, and I mean absolutely nothing, about the gameplay on display in that Halo Infinite demo that showed anything close to "next gen" gaming. It looked like it could have been runni...
@speak...truth
The fact is that anyone with a functional set of eyeballs should have had an issue with the Halo Infinite demo, doesn't matter what system you prefer. It was atrocious, and anyone who thought otherwise (and there were many) showed themselves to be completely clueless and delusional.
Craig should absolutely be a playable option in multiplayer. If they don't, it's a missed opportunity.
@darkzane
You are correct. It will look marginally better, but delays don't help studios who have no clue what they're doing. I'm still fully expecting a hot mess.
Credit given to where credit is due.....it looks spectacular, though it's not a game for the masses, I applaud the technical achievement.
