Europe is getting some awesome stuff! I wish Kingdoms of Amalur was coming to NA because I'd like to play it, but we will see what us 'Muricans get. Shadow of the Colossus is such a freaking great game, one of the best all time. Very happy to see my European brothers getting such a classic!
I'm incredibly excited for The Last of Us, I even have the Survivor's Edition preordered; but I hope this is a game designed with closure in mind. That way there's a possibility for anything to happen, including main characters dying and such. I don't mind a sad ending if it has the emotional weight behind it - sometimes I even prefer it. Some games are better with stand alone stories. (Who knows about this one though).
Regardless, I want Naughty Dog and all d...
People probably don't realize how difficult it would be to constantly create games with the ever-changing most powerful PC specs. There are so many different variables to take into account, and it's idiotic to think a game developer would make a game that will only run on a machine owned by 5% of the market. It's just not business smart.
Games take years to make, and there's new and more powerful PC parts coming out pretty much every year. Seriously guys, thin...
Unless there is some exchange rate they aren't factoring in, then they really just don't get. There is not even a 1% chance Sony will sell the PS4 for $600 or more, that's absolutely preposterous. Aside from that it's all speculation. My guess is $449, but $399 isn't that bad a guess either.
Regardless, $700 dollars? Really? Lazygamer is apt I supposed.
I just don't see this magic of the cloud as some godsend for the Xbox One. First of all, Sony has Gakai and if the developers used Microsoft's cloud for computations there's literally no reason they wouldn't also use it in the PS4, but regardless.
Microsoft is hoping the magic of the cloud will appear to not only lessen the gap between the actual hardware differences in the two consoles, but somehow make the Xbox One seem more powerful. So if I have my console...
If he enjoys working with Microsoft and its platforms, then awesome for him. But everything that we have to go on points to Microsoft not only not making an effort to support indie developers, but hurting them.
Yeah...ummmm...I think you are the one in denial.
Here's the difference: Sony developed the PS4 with developers in mind to make it the gaming console of choice. From having the most powerful tech, to dev friendly architecture to open publishing nearly everything points towards a huge focus on gaming. Oh, and it can record or share your gaming moments with your gamer friends! Yeah, it does things like play Netflix, but then every internet connected device plays Netflix. Do...
But isn't a lot more likely that somebody playing a casual game would try out a more traditional game than somebody who's watching TV on a console suddenly getting the itch to play a game?
With mods and potential issues :P
Oh those mods that erase your system :D
I get what you are saying, I'd love backwards compatibility for the convenience. But pricing is very important, it's one of the main reasons the PS3 struggled early. To a lot of people an extra 50 quid might make them want to wait - just like the PS3. And if they included it without upping the price that can cause a huge reduction in profits. Sony tried including BC, and while there were problems that overshadowed the launch it didn't seem to result in more sales, so why take the ...
That is a bad situation man. The Xbox 360 will most likely get a big price cut around the launch of the Xbox One, so if you don't change your perspective on the new console by then maybe you should get another 360.
I would say get a PS3 or PS4, but it doesn't seem like that would really change anything.
To put in backwards compatibility for the Xbox One they would have to install a separate internal HD for the Xbox 360's OS to run off of. Does the XBO really need 4 OSes???
And the PS3's Cell architecture is way different than x86 AND the PSOne and PS2's architecture. It's just way too complicated, time consuming, resource draining and expensive for no gain. If anything backwards compatibility can hurt initial sales. If somebody buys a PS4 but it has BC then t...
Honestly I don't have a problem at all with no backwards compatibility. I don't trade in consoles. The only thing I'm worried about is my 60GB PS3 can't begin to hold all my digital content, but I really don't need 250GB of PS3 stuff on my PS4 :/
The DualShock 3's D-Pad is miles better than the Xbox 360. Don't know what you're complaining about.
Valid concern. Doesn't the Xbox One's controller have some way to recognize the user? If true I imagine that would drive the price up as well.
Both look pretty awesome. I'd have to actually try out the D-Pad on the XBO controller and triggers on the DualShock 4, but they seem to be improved. I've said this before, but while I feel the Xbox 360 controller is the best controller to date I just prefer the DualShock 3.
That being said, the XBO controller looks pretty sexy, and I love the impulse triggers! I've always hated custom controllers, but I'd love to have the DualShock 4 with those smexy analog s...
Ummmm, I didn't say anything about Viva Pinata. Trust me, I like all kinds of games too, I just thought Perfect Dark Zero being one of your favorite 360 games this generation was...interesting. And probably hyperbolic.
I know what Perfect Dark Zero is, I bought a launch 360 as well. But it's one of your favorite 360 games this generation? We have different tastes ^_^
I could put a lot of games on this list, sadly. I suppose a couple that come to mind are Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (which is critically loved but hasn't sold 1 million copies) and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West which has only sold about 1 million but in my mind is maybe the most under appreciated game this gen - though it is flawed.
So how exactly is this clarification? There has already been official reports from Microsoft stating consumers will be able to buy, sell or trade-in used games. That does nothing to dispute the rumors surrounding fees - as much as full retail price.
I understand that Microsoft may not want to definitely say its exact policy because it's subject to change, but does Microsoft really think we are so dumb to think this changes our opinion of anything right now?
