I'm not an expert on Valve, but I know from the very beginning they openly released their game engine for people to go nuts with, and subsequently have not only released fan-made mods, but they even hired some of those people who made successful mods.

Like you said, no company is perfect. But even though I'm not a PC gamer my opinion of Valve is exceedingly high.

I'm no tech expert, but I think because consoles are becoming more and more PC structured that they are becoming easier to develop for. Maybe it's true, I don't know. However, I have a strong feeling if Microsoft delivers a good mix of new IP's and strong franchises at launch (which I do) plus the PS4's launch lineup which I have a great feeling about, I think these two consoles will have awesome launches comparatively.

It's weird, there was such a hug...

It's not whether or not the NextBox will be more powerfull, it's the outlandish specs this site is suggesting as a rumor. Absolutely nothing suggests the NextBox will approach those specs, be it rumors or simple logic.

I get what you are saying, and I do agree it's all about personal preference. But to me it's hard to argue that objectively Microsoft has a better game lineup than Nintendo or especially Sony.

For what it's worth, I personally feel like sometimes I may have an opinion that I believe isn't even the "more" correct one and I understand that. Like I prefer the DualShock 3, but I believe the Xbox 360's controller to be the best controller out there. T...

This author has got to be joking. 12GB of GDDR5, an 8 core CPU???? 4.9 Tera flops when the PS4 is supposed to be 1.9 right? If you are going to write an article for clicks, at least make it feasible!

Will the NextBox be more powerful than the PS4? I don't think so, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. But will it vastly outpace the PS4? Hell no. Every indication is that Microsoft wants to focus on an all-around entertainment product so there's no reason f...

How awesome is Valve? I mean, yeah they fired 25 people but sadly that's just life. But they could have easily retained the rights and whatever patents/intellectual properties pertaining to these but they let them seek their dream. No company is perfect, but Valve almost always proves that it's truly focused on gaming from all perspective.

Much props, and I hope these turn out well because we should all be so lucky to achieve our dreams.

Don't really agree with the list, but it's a highly subjective thing though so I won't undermine the author's article. One thing I'll say is Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are games for a fairly small group of gamers. To those gamers it's amazing and I 100% understand why. I just hope those that love those games understand why so many dislike the game.

For instance, I'm a huge Disgaea fan. I'd put Disgaea 4 on my top 10 list, but that's a...

But that's what we were expecting with the Wii U. That's what Nintendo said they were going for with the Wii U. If that's clearly what Nintendo should have done, why didn't they do it? When will they do it?

The launch between the Wii U and PS3 is apples to oranges. In fact, every launch is unique.

In 2005 the Xbox 360 launched and was a significant upgrade over the previous generation. Nearly a year later, the PS3 launched at a gaudy price of $599 US dollars. It was difficult to develop for, causing multiplatform games to look and run much worse on the console and 1st party games weren't flowing out for a while.

A generation of Nintendo fans played in a weir...

The problem is other than Injustic: Gods Among Us, which came out not too long ago, most of those multiplatform games have already been purchased by Wii U owners on other consoles. Without the benefit of already established 3rd party games, the Wii U's launch window didn't offer anything special other than Monster Hunter Tri if you're into that.

Not to say the launch was bad, but considering the Wii U's launch lineup was severly front-loaded I'd say it'...

Liam Neeson as Snake. Best movie ever.

Hype is built around the unknown more than anything. It's not surprising the NextBox has so much hype - it's the prominent console in America. After the 21st the hype will be huge, good or bad. What really matters is the hype after E3, because then pretty much all of the big news and announcements will be out and there will be little anticipation for the unknown. Then we will see which console has the most hype.

The question isn't whether it's legally right or wrong, but whether this is in the best interest for Nintendo and for gamers. On both accounts I don't think it is. The only thing Nintendo stands to gain is a pretty insubstantial amount of money (for them). But what they are losing is free advertising because some LPers will stop uploading Nintendo games and even worse the alienating of a community. It's not a terrible thing Nintendo is doing, it's just something that has n...

@yugovega I'm not trying to bash Nintendo here, but to me the idea of choosing a Nintendo console over a PS4 or Xbox 720 based on games is crazy. I get it, Nintendo makes some really good games. But it's SUCH a limiting experience.

I hope The Last of Us is a single game because that means there is a chance for anything to happen. Plus, some games are just better with closure. Look an Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I loved that game, but it would be weird to go back to it.

Hey, Ashley Johnson is doing voice work for both of them...and they are both post-apocalyptic. Coincidence?

Naughty Dog has always been a studio that seemed to only make a game if their hearts were in it. So, if they have the passion and drive to make an Uncharted 4 then that's awesome. If it's a new IP, then I'm excited for it as well because ND has a wonderful and consistent track record. What I'm not a fan of is a studio being forced or pressured into making another game in a series for financial reasons. From the outside that certainly doesn't seem to be an issue with Sony. ...

I sincerely doubt they still have assets for FFVIII. They didn't have any for FFX and FFX-2.

To me (as I can only speak for myself) it's because that's almost the only option you have. Nintendo still makes some great games, and a lot of good games, the majority of them just appeal to the same crowd.

It's not that the Wii didn't have something other than the Mario spinoffs, Donkey Kongs and such. It's that there is so little else when compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360. I want diversity in gaming. Journey was my favorite game last year, while games l...

Ok, I'm not saying that Nintendo should just publish software for home consoles, nor am I saying I want Nintendo to just publish software for home consoles...but IF Nintendo isn't going to address its shortcomings in modern hardware and the lack of 3rd party support, wouldn't it be awesome to see Mario, Zelda and Metroid on a PS4/NextBox (or another generation)?

Ouch. I don't know that this was exactly called for, even if what he said has a lot of truth to it.

And kind of funny :D
