Haha, nice! A little advice:

You can click to download all of the free content then cancel out, and all of that content will be forever yours regardless of if it is taken off the instant game collection. This way you can have access to everything and not worry about filling up your HD with games you might not play for a while, if ever.

Also, if I were you every beginning of the month I'd check the official PlayStation Blog to check out what we will see in...

Microsoft has the first E3 presentation, then Sony then Wii U (which doesn't matter in this regard). It's very possible that one or both will not release a price for the very reason of the competitor undercutting them. However, given what we saw with the XBO and Kinect coming bundled with the console (plus the better tech in the PS4 and presumably less impressive PSEye) I doubt either console can afford to go less than $349 at the absolute bottom price. I honestly expect the undercut ...

Allow me to be hypocritical:

It's much smarter to wait at least 6 months before you buy either to see what the software is like, what potential problems the consoles have and to possible get a small reduction in price. However, that being said, I'm confident enough in Sony that I will be buying a PS4 day one. I understand that it's not the pragmatic thing to do, but the allure of a shiny new console beckons me.

What I will say is make sure you get...

Let's just think about what Microsoft showed yesterday;

If the XBO is plugged into your cable box, then it can almost instantly switch between your apps, all with voice commands and hand gestures. Ok, that's kind of cool I guess. Is that really a game changer? Because the console is clearly not focused on games, so if you want the XBO I hope improved entertainment navigation is really enough to outweigh the lesser performance, anti-consumer practices and likely not as...

Joe is a big fan of the Xbox 360 and a pretty normal dude. I don't think this bodes well for the average joes (hehe) out there who don't have a console allegiance but just play a few games.

It will play third party games of course, but more than likely not as well. The console is designed to be an entertainment device, so are you really confident in Microsoft giving gamers a consistent stream of 1st party games?

Or, to be positive: The PS4 will do virtually everything worth mentioning about the Xbox One only with more powerful tech and a better track record of game studios.

There aren't many companies I would give a shot to do it, but I'll give Microsoft a chance. That being said, many time a product catering to everyone is a product catering to nobody. If I'm a gamer, why do I want a console that isn't about gaming? If I'm only a casual gamer, why do I want an expensive console?

I just don't think the XBO really offers anything substantive for entertainment other than some neat navigation and whatnot. Is that REALLY enou...

At one point I thought the Xbox One would actually function as its own cable box, thus being able to truly be the only box in the living room. Though I wasn't so much intrigued by this aspect, I thought if done correctly it would sell very well.

However, if we look at what we know and believe we know, then extrapolate, this is what I'm left with:

A box that offers some nifty things, but nothing revolutionary in the slightest. Certainly the fact that y...

The core gamers are the people who watched this press event. Clearly this was not targeted at them and only served to add fuel to the fire. The target audience they tried to capture today is a very broad and nebulous one. People who, what, like watching TV? Will they really be interested? All that came out of this reveal was more fervor.

Ironically E3 would have been the much better choice. Though the gamers want to see games there, the mainstream media might have latched ont...

If this Halo series is appearing exclusively on consoles and it has the financial and creative backing required for it to succeed, then I still don't know if it will sell many consoles. If the series comes out in the first year or so will they be able to recoup the money spent making the show?

Even more worrisome, if the show comes on another network (I doubt it personally) wouldn't that significantly decrease its importance to the Xbox One? What if the show just isn&...

I doubt PS4 will be blue. For one the original printing of PlayStation games has always been black, and also the Wii U's is sky blue so it's pretty close to it. Either way it doesn't really matter to me.

Some commenters have stated that E3 is for games, so this presentation wasn't a misstep for not showing much. But, to that I would say isn't the tremendous backlash reason enough? Microsoft focused SO LITTLE on gaming that to anybody interested enough in the Xbox One could only feel disappointed by what was shown.

The Kinect switching was pretty cool, but I have plenty of reservations regarding that. But, from an entertainment aspect, did what they showed off and told...

When it comes to games I don't think there was any doubt that Sony would deliver a better gaming experience than Microsoft, from a general sense. The PS4 proved that Sony focused on gamers. With the Xbox One it's quite possible that it will outsell the PS4 purely because it has a broad appeal and 300,000 servers for playing Call of Duty.

To me, a gamer, I knew before the PS4 was revealed I would likely get it because I want to play games. The PS4 will play Netflix, an...

My guess is the Xbox One will have slightly slower tech, although possibly in some regards there may be a piece faster than the PS4. Regardless, what worries me is the three operating systems and mandatory Kinect2.0 functionality. Even if the Xbox One is every bit as powerful as the PS4 it will have a percentage of it's power drained by those processes.

I gotta admit, I like the bickering between Microsoft and Sony. Maybe it's just the immature side of me :D

If people wanted to upgrade their consoles they would buy a PC instead. Look, PC's obviously have more power/performance and that will always be the case. However, because consoles set a soft cap on what PC's can do it limits the bulk of what PC's offer to being prettier.

An increase in power for consoles means games can be much more complex, which in turns means PC games can be more complex. Like it or not PC gaming and console gaming are intertwined. PC's do...

This again? Look, PC's aren't next gen because they are constantly improving incrementally. Plus there is a soft cap on what PC games push because of consoles. Just because you have a super-powerful beast of a computer, that doesn't mean your version of Crysis 3 is automatically next gen while a mid/low-grade PC or console version isn't.

To me graphics are only part of the next gen equation, and a small part. Because consoles went 6-7 years there will be signi...

I agree with you. To me one thing that's really important in a F2P game is can it be gratifying early on without paying, or is there a steep learning curve/necessary grind before you can begin to legitimately compete and have fun? One thing is for sure, this game is very grindy. I don't know how big a difference starter weapons/dropsuits are from the stuff veteran players will have, but I have a feeling a lot of people that don't jump on board early will get run over if they try i...

I love the ideas behind Dust 514, but the betas just really put me off the game. I'm sure they improved things, but at the end of the day the actual mechanics of the game simply weren't good. They might have been improved, but I'd be shocked if there was a significant change.

Regardless, I don't know how you review a game like this, haha. I mean, the game appeals to such a small group of people compared to normal shooters - and not just COD - so I really would...
