Sony loves Devs.

Gamers love Sony.

I'm going to probably get a lot of dislikes, but even though I absolutely LOVE the Metal Gear Solid franchise, David Hayter isn't the most talented voice actor out there. In 1998 he was great and gave off this 80's action vibe, obviously because of Escape from New York. But, in 2013 it's a little cheesy, honestly.

I would have had no problem at all with Hayter or Richard Doyle playing Snake in Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain, but I think Keifer will do an excel...

For example, I'm a very, very picky eater. So, a friend shouldn't ask me to try something and tell them if I think they will like it. Now, it gets tricky because asking somebody who is a huge fan of a franchise or genre might have an opinion slanted positively thus not the review wouldn't be entirely objective either.

I can't speak for every one, but to me Phil lauded many aspects of the game like graphics, sound, characterizations, atmosphere, etc. Quite a lo...

Actually Microsoft has since stated it will be the first year and a half.

And honestly, based on track record, 15 Microsoft exclusives don't beat 5 Sony exclusives...to me.

But there is a difference between a critical analysis of a piece of entertainment or literature and a review. A review should express how entertained you were by the game and why you were or weren't entertained.

A critical analysis can nitpick pretty much anything to death, but it's simply pointing every aspect that could, to that person's eyes, have been better.

To let nitpicks rule a written review, especially one that is scored by a group of ed...

The Wii U version may look better in person than the PS3, but in this video the PS3 version looks a little more crisp and more vibrant. But really, who cares? A 1% difference isn't going to sway customers the way the difference between Skyrim on the 360 and Skyrim on the PS3 did.

Well, I hope there's nothing releasing for the PS4 in January :D

EDIT: And Tales of Vesparia for the West please.

When you buy a game digitally you know you won't be able to resell it or get trade credit for it, so regardless of if the PS4/Xbox One were backwards compatible you still couldn't get credit for it. The only issue I have with no BC is that I simply don't have the space on my PS3 for the amount of digital content I have, but if it means enough to me once the PS4 comes out I'll do something about it. Otherwise I'll keep the best stuff downloaded on my PS3 for all time.

"The embarrassing shift from the conventional overhead view to third person over-the-shoulder dramatically reduced MGS4 from that envied "Stealth Action Game" to a ridiculous and deprioritized game where you have various camouflage cloaking in unending proportion."

I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. The change in perspective made the game infinitely more playable. If you want to dissect the game's mechanics, enemy encounters and such go ahead. M...

I don't think it looks bad, just boring. And honestly Microsoft probably didn't want a gaudy, eye catching device. They probably just wanted something anybody would put in their home entertainment setup.

Haha, that's interesting. Did not know that, thanks ^_^

I'm very split over FFXIII. On one hand we have the worst cast of characters, with the first three getting a pass because at that time JRPG's didn't have much of a story at all. Everything about Vanille and Hope just annoyed me to no end - it reminded me of the characters in anime that I don't like. The story had a lot of promise, but it was so long before it got moving at all and I was constantly frustrated by the party limitations. For over half the game I don't control ...

Call of Duty is published by Activision. Unless I'm missing something here?

I don't understand how Final Fantasy VII killed Squaresoft. It's an all-time classic JRPG. Squaresoft made Final Fantasy VIII, IX and X - all of which I think are great (with 8 maybe just good).

If you want to say the merger with Enix killed Square, then from a logical standpoint I understand. But even then, while we haven't seen a great run of Final Fantasy games we did get FFXII, Kingdom Hearts games, The World Ends With You and some good published games like De...

If you aren't under warranty for your 360 you can pay $100 to get it refurbished, or around $150 for an arcade unit. Also, the price of the Xbox 360 will drop once the Xbox One comes out. If you're strapped for cash trade in the Xbox 360 games you've played and don't care about keeping. Apparently GameStop is now accepting RROD 360's for trade value, so if that is what's wrong you're already part of the way towards a new Xbox 360.

I had an original...

I want to see new IP's. This isn't me trying to be sarcastic, but don't you want to see a new generation of Nintendo games? That doesn't mean we can't see familiar faces (Metroid!), but unless Nintendo fans strongly and consistently clamor for new IP's Nintendo doesn't seem apt to readily create them. And there is a difference between a few mid-tier games and Nintendo putting their big guns on new franchises.

You keep forgetting in your examples be it PC's, iPhones or MP3 players have very similar architecture. Do you know how difficult the Cell processor was to develop for? How much would it cost to build that feature into the PS4?

Does Sony and Microsoft want to make money? Of course they do. But are there legitimate reasons they aren't doing it? Yes. Does the Xbox One need a 4th OS? Look at this generation and how sketchy BC was for the Xbox 360.

Now, i...

The preservation of games is an important thing, and I know a few places are trying their best to do just that. However, backwards compatibility or lack thereof doesn't impede that. Sony could put BC in the PS4 but what about all of the now defunct companies who cannot license these games? What about the cost and man hours it takes?

If you ask me I'd like to see official emulations, that way going forward it would be easy for a console with an architecturally similar ...

I gotta be honest, I'm perfectly fine with getting a new console without any "innovation." Maybe I'm cynical, or just old fashioned. When I see things like Illumiroom and Oculus Rift I think of the negatives - distracting me from the game and motion sickness. At the same time, innovation is great for the industry. I just like sitting in a chair with a controller in my hand, ya know?

Now, when it comes to the software I do wanna see innovation. New ways to ex...
