Sony didn't show their entire hand. In fact, they have only shown half of it. Sony has a worldwide audience, and will undoubtedly announce some new games at Gamescon and TGS.
Off the top of my head we still have PS4 projects yet to be announced by: Guerilla Games, Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Media Molecule, Sony London, Sony Bend, House Marquee and probably more.
But if you still think Sony has shown their entire hand then I don't know what to tel...
The core gamers generally care about DRM and used games, so Sony trumps Microsoft there.
The casual care about cost, Sony has Microsoft there as well.
If Microsoft unveils a slew of Kinect games focused on families, then maybe it will drive some sales. But, the price will still remain an issue.
Personally, I think the only chance Microsoft has is to spend huge amounts of money for third party exclusives and a ton of advertising. The sad thing...
It just really disappoints me that whenever I, or somebody else, says they want Nintendo to create new IP's that there is a backlash. I cannot fathom that thinking. Give me a Mario Kart, Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros., but why can't I get more new IP's like X at the same time?
I seriously cannot understand why.
At first National Lapoon's movies were goofy and offbeat, and offered a nice touch of levity. As each new NL movie came out, they became more and more outlandish to the point that their movies tried so hard to be edgy and raunchy that they not only stopped being funny, but became painful to watch.
Personally, this is what I see happening with the Saints Row franchise.
I specifically mentioned X. Also, two new IP's isn't exactly exciting. I have nothing to say about the 3DS - handheld gaming is a completely different market and one that Nintendo is excelling at.
But after dropping $350 on a new console, I don't want to just see the same franchises updated. Why is that such a bad thing? I'm not saying the games Nintendo has made/is making are bad, I'm simply saying I want a more evenly distributed mix of new IP's LIKE...
I know this is a really sad statement about myself, but if there were trophies for this similar to the Welcome Park for Vita I would probably buy the PlayStation Cam :D
I know I'm being that guy, but let's try to not use gay in this way. Hope I'm not being a jerk, but it's better if we don't continue to let it propagate as a negative word.
(I still will not give you a dislike, FYI).
I disagree with you on almost everything I've seen you post, if I'm being honest with you, but for once I do agree. It is factual, but clearly is meant as a shot at Microsoft.
While I'm not an expert on this subject, I know a lot of terms of use disclaimers that have similar if not the exact same policy. This feels like piling on, although it is factual. However, if the PS4 doesn't have a clause preventing class action lawsuits I'll just laugh so hard.
Ok, I'm going to try to keep this short. Mario Kart 8...8. Just saying.
Look, I understand that Nintendo games with "Mario" in it sometimes have significant differences in them. But do you not want to see more new IP's with a triple A development like X? There's no reason Nintendo can't diversify its gaming library. And you have your head in the sand if you don't understand why the bulk of Nintendo games on home consoles feels very samey. Same ch...
If they don't create new IP's now, then when? If fans don't demand them, Nintendo has absolutely no incentive to develop them. That's why I evangelize new IP's from Nintendo because they can always keep creating Mario games and Zelda games, but it's frustrating that they try so little to give us new IP's. Sony is able to develop quality sequels while at the same time brand new IP's.
Why can't Nintendo?
If I'm not mistaken both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III have been confirmed for Xbox One.
Taking risks is developing a sequel to Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country Returns, etc?
Look, I'm willing to bet that almost every game from the E3 Nintendo Direct will be great; but taking a risk would be for Nintendo to try to bring us a bunch of new IP's. X looks pretty awesome, had Nintendo stated that they were bringing us four or five new IP's with that level of development then it would be taking a risk. One they should t...
Rare is working on Kinect Sports Rivals remember :D
Even taking all the indie games for Sony out of the equation, we must remember that Microsoft has unveiled probable every exclusive it has sans maybe one or two. Meanwhile, Sony has announced probably only 50%. Shuhei Yoshida said that Guerilla Games, Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica have yet to reveal all of their projects.
The Xbox One may have more exclusives now, and it's debatable that they look more compelling (I still side with PS4 here) but with 3 of Sony most pr...
Yeah, here's how I think. You don't need PS+ to play single player games, nor do you need it for the apps like Hulu and Netflix. On top of that, at least some Free to Play games will not require PS+ which is phenomenal. The downside is that you need PS+ for multiplayer, but at the same time out of the 12 retail games the service will offer if you would have bought 2 of those it's already paid for itself without factoring in the probably dozens of other games you will get for free....
"Because people like me, only play FPS and careless about small little free games . I pay $60 bucks for game that come with online play and expect me to pay $5 more to access online version of it!"
Do you know anything about PS+? You get full, triple A retail games along with these small little free games you seem so ready to brush aside. Regardless of the fact that some of the most compelling games fall into the category of small games (Journey, The Walking Dead, L...
Well, I assume all online multiplayer games will require PS+. However, F2P games seem like they will not, at least usually. Planetside 2 and DCUO are Sony owned and published, so that might be a reason they can afford to not put the games behind a paywall.
Regardless, PS+ is such an awesome deal I'd suggest everybody who gets a PS4 subscribe even if they don't plan on playing multiplayer often.
Well what exactly are we supposed to reply to you about? Blind Sony fans? Sure. And there are blind Xbox fans as well as blind Nintendo fans. And even if we agreed that before E3 there were more blind Sony fans, what we are seeing now is an out pour of gratitude for not participating in anti consumer acts and a focus on gamers.
The one bad thing is you have to buy PS+ to play multiplayer games. I don't like it. But PS+ is such an incredible deal, especially once the PS4 l...
I agree, but not now. One of my points of contention with the 24 hour mandatory check in is that it doesn't force developers to create games centered around what an always online game can offer. Personally I hate the idea that at some point I might not be able to play a single player game without an internet connection, but I understand some of the potential benefits.
When the Xbox launched it forced people to upgrade their connection, which would have happened naturally....
