Personally I'm very happy with my PSN name, and I doubt I'll ever want to change it. However, it's been weird that Sony hasn't allowed this other than in Japan. Aside from just it being nice having that option to change your name, it's another potential chance at profit. Don't get me wrong, I sincerely hope it's free; however, having to spend a buck or two might limit name-changes willy nilly and be easier to keep up with.

Regardless, I'm happy...

Well, Kojima later stated that Ground Zeroes looks much better on the PS4 and even made a video showing the differences between the different versions. The fact is the PS4 is more powerful in almost ever way and is more streamlined for developing. The Xbox One may improve it's SDK more than the PS4 and subsequently "reduce the gap" so to speak, but there will always be a difference between the two.

If the developers don't take advantage of the extra horsepow...

It's statements like these that make me chuckle. You prefer the Xbox One's current and announced exclusives more than the PS4's? That's fine. No argument there.

But when you list basically every exclusive, including stuff like Max the Curse of Brotherhood, and go on to say there is literally only one game for the PS4 you're interested in it's just silly. Just admit that you bought the Xbox One because you are a Microsoft fanboy and move along. Trying t...

The home console space and handheld console space are two different ecosystems and two different entities. It's like saying TV shows and movies are the same thing. There is crossover, for sure, but both fundamentally satisfy their respective audiences in a slightly different way.

A lot of the layoffs I can make logical reasons as to why. Sony Santa Monica had become bloated in large part to help publish smaller games and overall help development for the PS3 for other teams. It sucks so many got laid off, including some really talented, well-known guys. But it made sense considering how easy it is to develop for the PS4.

Seeing lead designers, especially of important franchises like Amy Hennig (Uncharted) "leaving" Naughty Dog was troubling. ...

Why should they be compensated? The Oculus Rift couldn't find backing from a large publisher, so it crowd-sourced its funding. Everybody that donated did so under the premise of a very specific reward, the main one being the first run of dev kits. That's it.

Sure, the end goal was to produce a consumer grade VR headset, but that wasn't what was offered. The initial backers were there to get the ball rolling, and they did and were given exactly what was promised. ...

Everybody that is asking for money because of this, or thinks the Kickstarter backers deserve financial compensation should be ashamed of themselves. You are not an investor on Kickstarter. At best, you are a charitable donator hoping whatever pittance you give results in a successful product - of which you get some reward for helping the project off the ground.

I understand that maybe you don't like Facebook or the potential negative impact the company could have on the ...

They already have. The Kickstarter was for the original dev units, which they have already sent out and are now working on their 3rd or 4th Oculus Rift model.

They made no investment other than hoping their donation would lead to consumer grade VR gaming headsets. By all accounts that is still happening, and regardless they have been compensated.

Except the people who Kickstarted OR are far from investors. To say otherwise is sheer folly.

People who donated to the OR Kickstarter had their rewards explicitly laid out for them. If you pay X amount you get a newsletter, if you pay Y amount you get a demo kit. It's black and white. Every one of these people got what they "paid for."

The initial Kickstart money allowed them to develop demo units that were encouraging enough to rally developer...

Is a petition really necessary? Seems a little hyperbolic at this point.

Glad to hear it. Titanfall may not be perfect, but it seems like a super fun game.

I hope you enjoy inFamous, it sucks anytime you don't have much to play. Luckily, my backlog of PS3 games is keeping me busy so I don't mind too much.

To be fair, you can complete The Last of Us (15-20 hours) and only have one trophy unlocked equaling like 5%. I get what you're saying, but while the total playtime might end up around 6 or 7 hours, the main draw of this is the "campaign" which appears to take around 30 minutes the first time through.

There are merits to both retro and modern games. However, I think as a whole games are much better than they used to be. Games are definitely easier, but they are a more convenient - which, aside from the obvious benefits also means things like pacing can be a lot better.

I mean, who really wants to input a new 16 digit code every time they want to load their game or only ever have one save file tied to a cartridge? Even if you remove those technology based faults, you're...

The difference is one person might say, "Ground Zeroes is incredible and it has me super pumped for The Phantom Pain, but it really is too short;" and another person saying, "$30 for a 25 minute campaign and a few hours, who cares if it's good or not 4/10."

If somebody doesn't think it's worth the price that's up for them to decide, but this review isn't going to give any reasonably objective assessments of the games quality. The score ...

I'm sorry, but this review is a complete joke. Review scores are based on the quality of the product, not if it's a good value proposition. And even if you want to factor price in, it should be a very small factor in the score (I think it shouldn't at all).

Of course, this is purely for clicks...

Question: Have you owned a PS3/Xbox 360 or do you own a PS4/Xbox One? Without this pertinent information, a discussion is not worth starting.

The more options for consumers, the more options for revenue for Sony. Because we are talking about digital goods, this is a no brainer if they can get the pricing right for gamers and the royalty fees for publishers/developers. I'm not big on renting, but those two or three times a year where I would want to rent a game and can't - this might solve that problem.

The problem is becoming overly reliant on sequels. That's one of Nintendo's biggest issues, at least with the home console market. Because Nintendo predominantly relies on the same IP's, they don't have growth in its fanbase. It's clearly shown if you look at the history of its home console sales.

It's not that Nintendo should stop making sequels altogether, Nintendo still makes great games and it's a good source of software sales. But Nintendo mu...

Assuming Sony's VR headset does exist, it would be very smart for #Driveclub to be a day one game for it. Honestly, if I were Sony, I would bundle #Driveclub with the headset to try to drive sales. Cockpit games seem like the perfect fit for a VR headset.
