Funny thing is, Cloverfield was filmed using a professional-level digital HD camera, while Harry Potter was filmed using traditional 35mm film.

Please explain this concept that they aren't natively shot in HD... you do realize that celluloid, the medium that has been around since movies started, really isn't limited by resolution, right? That when transferred to a digital format, most celluloid movies today are scanned at over 4 times the resolution of HD movies?
In reality, the vast majority of movies shot digitally today are actually inferior to movies shot on celluloid; digital is just that much easier, and makes the product...

Cliffy B, Kojima, Miyamoto, Will Wright... if they aren't stars of gaming, who is?

Many people I know with a Wii decide what game they are going to buy based entirely on the box art as they are standing in the store. It looks like fun to them, so they buy it. And generally speaking, they aren't as disappointed by crap games as most of us would be, they just play the game.

If they can figure out if it's a pirated copy, then hell yeah, permaban them. If they were lucky enough to get their copy early from a store, then it's great for them, sucks for those of us who have to wait. If you bought it from a store early, you didn't do anything wrong, it's the store's fault for breaking the street date.
You can't tell me anyone here would walk into a store today, see a copy of GTA IV sitting on a shelf and not walk out with that game in a death grip.

If we hadn't already been waiting so long for this. The MGO delay is 5 days. This is more like 5 months — once again.
I'm all for releasing a product when it's ready, but the way they were pushing this months ago, showing it off at E3 like it was almost ready, presenting it long before that as the big innovation on the horizon, constantly pushing it back but dangling it like a carrot on a string... I'm a huge Sony fan, I love my PS3, but this is BS, plain and simple.

100%, no excuses, ridiculous.

out of all the games that I wanted to have this feature, this was at the top of the list. The music in it was basically awful, especially after the 20th time you went through the list.

How about ePeens? Or, they could really tick off the xbox owners and call them cheevos, since that isn't what MS itself calls achievements.
Honestly, I don't care what they're called, just as long as they show up with Home before the PS4 is announced.

Seriously, why risk breaking something worth a few hundred dollars in an effort to clean it when there are better ways to go about it? EVERYONE should have a vacuum cleaner with hose or handheld vac, and anyone with a computer, console or any other ventilated electronics device should have a can of compressed air.

because of the price guarantee when you preorder products. I've had several games that, for whatever reason, end up with a price drop ahead of time of a few dollars. It's not much, but along with not paying sales tax and the fact that I don't mind waiting a couple days for free shipping through Prime makes it worth it to me. I preorder games at brick&mortar when there is swag involved (hello MGS) but otherwise I don't even buy games locally.

The real problem (for most of us here) is that the information board doesn't give us any info that we don't already find online through sites like this. I have a couple of more casual gamer friends who use that thing more than I would have expected. They keep telling me "news" from it that I've already heard elsewhere long before it gets there. Not exactly something you can fix in MS Paint. For me to start using it Sony needs to have truly new or exclusive news on there, not just a ...

That's the main thing I've noticed, most PS3s that have had problems had them right away, meaning there was something wrong right from the start, not a problem that develops with time. Warranties were always meant to cover defects in production, not in engineering, and manufacturing problems generally show themselves pretty quickly. That's the problem we see with the 360 — it just wasn't designed right.

You used up all the periods! Now we have to end all our sentences with other forms of punctuation — are you happy now?

Are you saying at this point if you lived where the bundle was coming out, and wanted a PS3 and GTA IV, that you would rather buy them separately at a higher price just because bundles are for, as you state, stupid and lazy people? Or do you have some other more logical argument against bundling a game and console?

Great story... let us know when 1/3 of the people who own a PS3 are affected by it.

and further makes me wonder why MS hasn't thrown money into advertising this "advantage" when they spent to so much to secure it in the first place. I'd think that it would be a big part of the preorder advertising we've already started seeing, so unless MS plans on unveiling something soon, they're going to miss the boat entirely.

Not sure why the haters are out in full force here, he's not complaining about the xbox being broken as much as he's (understandably) pissed about them not sending him the friggin box to ship it back to be repaired. As popular as gaming is on military bases, you'd think MS would want to take care of problems like this proactively instead of letting it turn into any sort of PR issue.

If you let it control your life and your relationships, it's not a good thing. If it's having a negative impact because of the time or money you devote to it, maybe you do need to look at your priorities and examine your life a bit.
At the same time, if you partner doesn't like it JUST because it's gaming, then they need to stop and realize that they enjoy and do things you probably aren't into either, and if they can't respect that you enjoy gaming they aren't the right person in more...

There's definitely room for both. There's just no AI substitute for having a friend sitting on the couch with you, or even at their house on a mic, playing alongside you against another group of people or the computer. Let's face it, Rock Band is absolutely made by having a group of friends all playing together in the same room, and Gears and Halo3 were both a lot more fun with a friend.

I like the idea of more games having coop instead of tacked-on multiplayer deathmatches, and ...
