I'm perfectly fine with lowering the resolution in order to improve visual fidelity wherever the hardware can't handle 4k/60 at the game's target visuals.
DLSS is an nVidia tech btw. Not sure this is using any kind of ML super sampling.

Uhmmm... Need to be very cautious with Japanese number. As I've said before, I believe Xbox has a shot there with xCloud but that's not gonna release until 2021 Q1.

Microsoft isn't looking to sell more games... they want te sell subscriptions, and releasing big Triple As on Playstation won't help them as much as keeping them exclusive to the platforms where Game Pass + xCloud are allowed.

Framerate, textures, average resolution and overall effects and post processing. There are a lot of things that can be compared. In the 360/PS3 era games used to run at similar resolutions, but you could always find differences, some more significant than others.
