A digital only console will fail.
Most console owners still like discs.
If it's not having a disc drive then I sincerely hope it uses some kind of flash drive for games. Preferably a kind that can be manufactured cheaply to keep the cost of games at a similar price point to disc games.
Not fact.
Nintendo has been out a lot longer than the xbox one.
It also isn't doing very well outside of Japan. Here in the UK it's a flop.
Even western 3rd party publishers have dropped support because they can't make any money off it.
It might be doing well in Japan but the Japanese don't like western games.
Any problems will be down to activisions demonware servers and not PSN.
I'm getting the game on xbox one and even I know that you can't blame PSN for everything.
This is what beta's are for. Solve the problems before game is released.
This could be a good thing for xbox one owners as hopefully the server problems will be fixed by time the xbox one beta is released.
I hope this is true.
I still have loads of original xbox discs collecting dust because they are not on the 360 BC list.
To this day I regret getting rid of my original xbox because I can't play them.
I hope if do get BC it will be for all original xbox games and not just a sele few as was the case on the 360.
I'll be buying both. But if I could only afford one of them I would choose Fallout 4.
I think it's a big mistake releasing it the same time as Fallout. It will seriously effect sales. Even if the game was on ps4 as well it would still be massively overshadowed by fallout 4.
Although if the game gets good reviews they could claw back sales at christmas
@scratchy
Actually Tomb Raider started on the Sega Saturn not the ps one.
It only because a playstation exclusive because Sony bought timed exclusivity.
No different to what Microsoft have done now.
If anything damages the franchise it wont be the fact that it is exclusive to xbox. It will be the fact that it is released the same time as Fallout 4.
Even if it wasn't exclusive to xbox it would still have to go against Fallout 4 so still wouldn't sell as well as it could have.
@medman
That's the older version of the slim.
The current version of the slim has a shitty sliding door disc tray. I know because I have got one.
The only reason consoles get slim models is to reduce manufacturing costs. Every new slim gets poorer than the next.
A slim model means an inferior console.
you can guarantee that a slim model would not only be noisier but it would have less USB slots as well.
Build quality would be poorer as well. Just look at the ps3 slim. Gone from being a quality console to having a crappy sliding door disc tray that allows dust build up on the lens.
What?
Unlike the ps4(Yes I do own one), the xbox one has USB sockets on the back. Nothing sticking out the front.
The xbox ones method of upgrading storage is far better than the ps4's
With ps4 you not only need to physically change the internal drive but you have to manually install the operating system by downloading it to a USB stick.
With xbox one. You just plug a drive in and away you go. You even keep the internal ...
This seems pointless to me.
An overpriced xbox branded external is not necessary for the xbox one. You can just use anothr brand of the same quality that costs less
Yes I care.
Just because I own an xbox one and a ps4 doesn't mean I don't want to play my xbox 360 and ps3 games any more.
Some fanboys will say things like you can keep your ps3 just to make excuses for Sony.
But keeping 4 consoles under my TV means I don't have room for other devices like my satellite box.
I can see a time when I can finally retire my xbox 360. But my ps3 is going to be taking up space under my...
While I agree with the Japanese comment. Lets face it Xbox is perceived as too western for Japanese tastes so is a flop there. Even PS4 is perceived a bit too western and isn't doing as well as previous consoles. The NX will dominate ps4 there when it's released as Nintendo caters for Japanese tastes.
I think you are talking crap about European developers. I have quite a few European games on xbox one. And comparing the game stores on both consoles(Yes I own both) I ...
What?
If the game was out on PS4 it would still be a bad decision bringing it out the same time as Fallout 4.
This game just can't compete with Fallout 4.
Actually the delayed release date on ps4 will probably help the game sell better on ps4 unless they make the mistake of bringing it out the same time as Uncharted 4
I can't understand why they chose to release it at the same time as Fallout 4.
While I want the new tomb raider, I want Fallout 4 even more
Given the choice I choose Fallout 4.
Seems like a really bad business decision to me
Another shitty fanboy flamebate article.
The PS4 might be the top selling console but it is not a monopoly. It already has a competitor, the xbox one.
And guess what. No matter what these fanboyish articles say the xbox one is not a failure. It's still selling well. It is still a competitor.
People seem to forget that last generation neither the ps3 nor xbox 360 were the top selling consoles. That was the Nintendo Wii and no one would say...
You're getting disagrees because you clearly don't know how EA access works.
Its not about buying the game early so its download ready for launch. You can do that on both consoles anyway.
Early access means you can play the full game early for so many hours then when game is officially released you can carry on from where you left off with the same saves.
They will come to ps4 eventually I've no doubt.
Really looking forward to being able to use mods on the xbox one. I wonder if it will be possible to make your own mods using the contruction kit and move them to xbox one/ps4 without owning the game on PC?
First of all BC isnt out until november that why there are not a lot of games yet. Only preview members get it at the moment.
When november comes there will be plenty for Sony to compete with. With new BC games added regularly plus games with gold giving xbox one members free 360 games as well as x1 games every month. PS Now just cant compete with that even if it gets a subscription service.
