I doubt it.

The install base of Xbox is so small in much of the world that Sony wouldn't benefit at all from making their games multi-platform.

Also there is literally no reason to choose an xbox over a playstation any more unless you really want game pass

Playstation plays xbox first party titles as well as Sony first party titles.

Xbox plays the first party xbox titles but can't play the Sony ones.

Can't say I'm surprised.

Xbox are terrible at advertising in the UK and Europe

It's exclusives are going over to playstation

And they literally have an advert telling people not to but an xbox but get a firestick instead.

Their actions have made it so that there is literally no reason to choose an Xbox over any other console now.

Anyone who thinks Xbox consoles have a long term future ar...

And yet publishers keep putting their games on there.

They must be making enough money off game pass to make up for the lost sales or they just wouldn't put their games on there.

I'm quite sure different games have different deals and a high budget game would get way more than than $600,000 especially if it's put on there day one. They would not only get enough to cover lost sales but if the games good enough a lot of subscribers would end up ...

You do know Russia has land borders?

Russian civilians are escaping by crossing the border into Finland

Apart from the fact there are more playstations in peoples homes than Xboxs I can't help thinking that the fact that Sony has a marketing deal with activision where they cut content out of the PC and Xbox versions for a whole year and advertise the game as though it's a playstation exclusive has something to do with it too.

Sick of being ripped of by Activision that this year I have totally skipped COD and won't even buy it digitally.

Most of us don't own the hardware capable of playing these old games so yeah i'm jumping at the chance to play them even if the grapical upgrade is only small.

Also they might not look a good as GTAIV but they were better games. Both GTA3 and Vice City gave me far more hours of enjoyment than I ever got out of GTA4

With gamepass all games are downloaded. Streaming is optional.

PS Now allows you to download ps4 games. It's only the ps3 games that you're forced to stream.

So no input lag on either service

This is a Ubisoft issue and not a Microsoft One.

Farcry is a Ubisoft game. They choose what goes on the disc. They obviously chose the Xbox One version because there's more Xbox Ones than Series consoles out there.

I hope they can keep the radio stations and music the same from GTA3 and Vice City.

I can imagine a lot of music either being removed or replaced due to licensing issues.

Neither game will be the same otherwise

@sammarshall102

First of all they are not run from the disc. They are installed to the hard drive and most only run fine because they have downloaded a patch for the game from the internet.

Try disconnecting your console from the internet, installing a game from a disc and see how well it runs without the day one patches. Most wont run well. They will have performance issues and game breaking bugs.

To be fair, physical has been a scam all last generation too.

The most common excuse for only buying physical is that when Sony or MS eventually shut down the servers you can still play your games. Except you can't

99% of games nowadays go gold before they are even finished so they require a day one patch.
If they are not patched they are a buggy mess or just broken.

In fact a lot of games are too big to fit on a single di...

This isn't just a MS thing so stop being a fanboy. The game is published by Ubisoft. They choose what goes on the disc. It's been like this all last generation too. Not just with Xbox either but with playstation too

Physical is now a waste of time. You buy a game on disc and almost all discs require day one patches or they are a buggy mess. Some even have to download most of the game off the internet.

Look at Call of Duty for instance. Those games...

It because of problems like this that I opted out of the preview program before getting my Series X.

Trouble with the preview program is it's too easy to join. A lot of people join just to try out new features before everyone else but they don't participate with sending feedback. Instead when there is a problem they don't report it to Xbox they just whine about it on public forums.

If you are in the preview not only do you need to be willing t...

Oh what a surprise!. Say something good about Xbox and all the sad pathetic Sony fanboys downvote.

Really. N4G is pathetic. You're not welcome here unless you constantly have your tongue rammed up sony's arse.

When it comes to digital games this is a non issue. Just a bit of scaremongering.

When servers shut down you'll lose the ability to play your digital games anyway. CMOS bug doesn't really matter.

Digital games wont work without the license that needs to be downloaded from the servers. If the license gets deleted for any reason and the servers are not there to get a new one then the digital game will not work.

This happens alread...

@nfrog

Both consoles are selling out. Nothing is remaining on shelves.

Honestly what do you get out of being a fanboy that has to make things up and hate on the console you don't own?

It's pathetic.

Spoken like a true fanboy.

If old games were so bad then remasters of old games like Last of Us or Bioshock wouldn't have sold well on the ps4.

Backwards compatibility is much better than being forced to buy a remaster just to play an old game on their current hardware.

There's only a limited amount of room under the average persons TV. Better to have one box that plays games from multiple generation that have multiple consoles....

A huge percent didn't play ps2 games on the ps3 because a huge percent of the consoles were not backwards compatible.

I would love to have been able to play my ps2 discs on my ps3 but couldn't. When Sony did design a ps2 emulator for the ps3 they decided to monetise it and force people to buy games from the store even if they already owned the disc.

The only reason PS4 games work on PS5 now is because people want it. If Sony had said no to backwar...

Not going to happen.

Whats more likely to happen is Sony will go all in on PS Now and start putting their first party games on there day one.

This will be real competition to Game Pass and competition is good for everyone.

@Thundercat77.

Stop being such a pathetic fanboy. I said part of the reason in difference. Yes Playstation still would have had more sales due to the size of the userbase but the gap wouldn't have been as large as it is now due to Game Pass.

It astounds me how fanboys like you can be so thick. You're so in love with your beloved Sony you can't see the obvious. I and many other Xbox and PC users didn't buy the game because we didn't nee...
