No it doesn't mean anything.
Because they don't have to. They don't owe anything to you or me or anyone but their bosses and shareholders. If you want better data become a shareholder otherwise get over it. This whole NPD thing is a recent phenomenon and I'm glad they have stopped making the data publicly available because it doesn't do anything but incite rampant fanboyism.
Microsoft only released their numbers because they are loud mouths, but if they sell low one month you can bet y...
It's not even an accurate description of sales because as the article said it's an accessory sale so they are not tracked the same way. I don't care if Sony makes a public statement or not because I will read it in the fiscal reports where it will be stated on some level. I just don't understand all of these people saying it sold poorly when they have been backordered or completely sold out both online and in stores since launch.
I don't think it would be now since it already happened most expect it to happen again, so they may be pissed but only the most vocal will take to the internet and bitch about it.
You are so very wrong. They share their expretise with many a developer and they usually do a thing at GDC highlighting techniques they use to make their games so stellar. They may be second party devs but they work extensively with the first party devs which is why first games are so good.
Insomniac paved the way for every other first party dev, except maybe ND but a lot of what ND has done was born out of the tools the IG use to make their games.
Insomniac pretty much wrote the rules on first party development for the PS3 and it's why they have helped so many other devs realize the PS3's potential. Naughty Dog, GG, Sucker Punch, all of their great games were born out of what IG did with the system first.
Yeah, no, never gonna happen and it shouldn't happen, and that's coming from someone who loves their Dreamcast. The market has enough consoles and fanboys without throwing Apple fanboys in it and reigniting some old Sega fans inner fanboy. It's bad enough sifting through the FUD and misinformation, adding another console to that would just kill it.
Whoever wrote this article has a serious hard-on for the Xbox brand because the whole thing was written like some sort of analyst love letter to the console. It will be interesting to see what Kinect does but Fable 3 is not a major seller and it doesn't move hardware.
Even still, the 360 has done great the last four months in America and the article shoudl be a bit more clear on that front because it implies that it is doing this on a global scale and it is not.
It was in West Mifflin which made me think of Dunder Mifflin which made me think of the office and finally made me think of Steve Carrell and Ricky Gervais playing Kinect together. That would be funny to watch.
Anyway, I bet a lot of people will love playing Kinect in stores with wide open spaces, and then they buy it for Christmas or whatever and struggle getting it set up and then realize they don't have enough space to play. Not so much fun if you don't have the...
Because PS3 players don't just play shooters online maybe!?
What are the differences in energy consumption? If it's negligible then I could see going with plasma but LED's are quite energy efficient and the bulbs last forever.
I agree, 3D will last too long to actually be a fad, but as newer televisions come out from here forward they will all include 3D options. It will just become a part of the market until holographics come into play which 3D is a stepping stone toward.
It's not a fad as it will last too long to be considered a fad. A gimmick yes, but a fad it is not.
Yeah, I'll believe he's dead when I beat the game and don't see him through the course of it all.
It's not but it's enough to declare shortages and create artificial demand. I have no doubt that Kinect will sell out or well, but the day after Christmas to the first of the year is the biggest return time of the year and there will be a lot of returns. Buyers remorse is going to bite Microsoft in the ass on this one...hard.
Most of the time I would be inclined to agree but in this instance there are real shortages, you can't buy the Move at any physical retail store in my area and it's sold out online at every major retailer.
There is no way those numbers are actually in his report because when Sony releases the official numbers and they are much higher than that he is going to look even worse than he generally does. It will be pretty bad when a VGC target has better numbers for the first two weeks of sales then what Pachter has predicted for the month. Wow.
I'm usually willing to five Pachter the benefit of the doubt because let's face it, the guy make a ton of money doing this. I fail to see how the Move has sold well below Sony's expectations when they never explicitly stated how many they wre looking to sell when it debuted, and it's been sold out all over the place. Move's been out for nearly a month so Sony should be releasing official figures soon enough and I would pay good money to have the picture of Pachter with his...
I can't wait to play Hot Shots Golf 5 with motion support, and hopefully trophies, because I freakin' love that game and golf is hella fun with the Move.
