Thank goodness.
"I don't think it'll get as worse as the 3rd party support on the Gamecube (hopefully not)."
It won't get as bad as the Gamecube's non-existent third party support, but something that Wii owners should probably start accepting is that small, hopefully well-designed, games like De Blob or Lost Winds are going to be the face of non-Nintendo Wii games in the near future; there's not going to be much in the way of third party games from massively-popular franchises with m...
"Right, instead you write a giant wall of text dissecting an article you apparently don't care about."
I care about the article, in that it is terribly written, terribly argued, and is demonstrative of the terrible journalism of IGN as a whole. Although that's slightly unfair on my part, as most gaming journalism in general is awful.
I just don't care what Daemon Hatfield, IGN Journalist, thinks about the last Mario game. You have not made a case as to ...
"But there is a lingering injustice I am having trouble letting go of."
Good grief, you're acting like someone stole your car or something. In the pantheon of lingering injustices that people have trouble letting go of, a displeasing videogame is pretty low-ranking.
"When it comes to the question of what was last year's best platformer, gamers seem to have settled on New Super Mario Bros. Wii, a title I find to be derivative and dull."

Those who don't like Bayonetta, line up on the left.
Heroes and champions, line up on right.
"All Nintendo has been good at this generation is selling hardware and selling first party games"
Um, more third party games have been sold on the system than first party. That was the case about a year ago, and whenever they get around to releasing the updated tie ratios, it will probably be the case again.

"them bleed. There are consequences for not supporting the market leader. Third parties have no one to blame but themselves."
The elephant in the room here is that it's looking like the major Wii third party titles that are going to benefit from this are going to be the two-year-old port from Activision and the non-mini-game Rabbids title, both of which play to sets of the system's strengths.
The problem of a lot of third parties, like say, Sega, is th...
Articles like this are silly because they're relatively trivial and take away attention from Nintendo's *far* more obnoxious policies, like the system's godforsaken region lockout.
The following photo is of Nintendo executives at press time: http://img5.uploadhouse.com...
"LittleKingStory is easily one of the best games on the Wii. It also sold terribly."
In all fairness, I imagine he's referring less to games like Little King's Story and more to games like Spyborgs, or Spogs racing, or Gyrrostar, or the countless licensed games that rightly fill the digital and physical landfills.
"The statement simply isn't true. A brilliant game can be completely ignored by the masses for any number of reasons."

They're renaming it the 'Wii'? Yeah, like that will ever catch on!
If you count its days back when it was still conceptually Super Mario 128, Mario Galaxy was in development for well over seven(!) years. And although development was not exactly always taking place and numerous different concepts were gone through over the years, Team Fortress 2 was announced last *millenium* if I recall correctly.
"never claimed my writing was perfect and doesn't need to be"
If you attack others for their writing, as you did to mshope10, then yes, it does need to be. Otherwise, you're not practicing what you preach.
"So i can seriously live with a few capitalization and puncuation errors, i don't like changing my habits once i get accustomed to them."
Which is perfectly fine -- until you start going after others for having pretty much the...
"i had a real reply but my ps3 decided to refresh the page without me meaning to and i am not retyping it all over again. And i am well aware that my spelling, grammer and puncuation, capitalization are all flawed, however i hated the writing part of english with a passion"
Right, which is why it's positively hilarious that you're lecturing others on *their* English.
"It was also five in the morning when wrote that"
I can't help...
"first take a couple of english courses then try to post"
No offense, but you're probably not the best person to be lecturing mshope10 on taking English courses.
"by the way the post was written i was thinking jr high kid or freshmen not a 26 yr old."
Uh, as long as we're going on about linguistics courses and whatnot, it is customary in the English language to capitalize the first-person pronoun. "i" is what people bu...
"How Nintendo is Hurting Themselves"
Not to split hairs, but you mean to say 'How Nintendo is Hurting Itself', or 'How Nintendo Are Hurting Themselves".
"The past three years have been kind to Nintendo"
Indeed, they have.
"After facing obscurity with the semi-disasters in the fifth and sixth generation that were the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, respectively, it seemed Nintendo may be on the rocks"
"n64 was kicking ps1's @SS in terms of quality and technology"
I like how you don't actually remember anything about the N64 era. Be honest, you don't actually know anything about technology, and you especially don't know anything about cartridges.
You know, the form of media that allowed for superior data storage, more content, more complex content, better quality sound, more complex graphics? The media that allowed larger *and* cheaper games to be ma...
"I’m part of the problem"
This is probably true.
"I bought a Wii. My excuse for buying the Wii is that Nintendo sold it to me as a system where I could play Zelda and Mario with these great new interactive controls"
Alright, I'm with you so far: You bought the Wii because Nintendo billed it as a system that had Mario and Zelda on it.
"Now it is 2010, and my Wii has not been turned on since playing Resident Ev...
Yeah, Metal Arms was sublime. It's a true shame that we're never getting a sequel.
We're getting somewhat off-topic here, but there's a great article on Cracked about this sort of thing if you google "cracked.com" and "apocalypse theories".
I'd link to it myself, but the url contains a swear word that apparently makes N4G very sad.
