Great rating description... or greatest rating description?
"However if you look at some of the highest rated original 3rd party Wii titles such as... Conduit"
I'm curious. In what sense of the word is The Conduit 'highy-rated'?
"Survey results don't mean much, and obviously only form a part of the analysis - which you'd see if you read beyond your cherry picked quote (hint: have a look at the original Gamasutra article)"
What are you talking about? The Gamasutra article quite literally has nothing *except* survey results as its basis for analysis. Not one iota of actual sales data is brought up to back up anything, which speaks volumes, really.
"when nostalgia beats reality a Wii fanboy is born"
Says the person pining for the good old days of a system where almost the entirety of its library could be found on other, stronger systems.
"turok 2 with expansion pack "
The expansion pack that worked with something like four whole games.
"n64 was the first console to have 4 controller ports,I remember playing ge007,perfect dark(best fps ever made, nothing ...
"This gen has told me that the only thing they have to offer is Mario, Link, and Metroid. IMO the Gamecube was better than the Wii is."
Er, how? The Gamecube had the same first-party games; in terms of third-party exclusives, it had Rogue Leader, Eternal Darkness, and... um...
Uhhhh...
Geist?
"you just listed an awesome list of thing that have to change now ..and yet you don't think there will be a problem ??"
I don't recall saying that I don't think there are going to be problems in having to mess around with 90% of the gameplay to get it to work on something it wasn't built for; I just said it wasn't rape. Rape is unwilling. Marvelous *wants* to port the game. The game was asking for it. The game shouldn't have worn such a revealing dress. The game told ...
"But the original idea is raped now."
sidar, just because the wrestling moves, the side-job mini-games, the work-out mini-games, the weapons-locking, the calls from Sylvia, the beam recharging, and the finishers are going to set to a system scheme they weren't designed for doesn't mean the game is 'raped'. Maybe felt up a bit inappropriately -- but if Marvelous wants to port it, Marvelous wants to port it.
"How do we know its not the wii version vs. the wii version"
Because the 360 versions all come directly from Microsoft.

"Japanese focused, that fail over in Japan. Then they expect good numbers in other parts of the world?"
Well, it's not entirely unreasonable, seeing as how it looks like a number of their stuff does perform better outside of Japan.
I'm surprised Little King's Story actually reached 130K sold worldwide. That's about a hundred thousand more than I expected it to ever move.
"Marketing could also be better imo."
Eh, ...
"You already have the game made, so it wouldn't take alot of money to improve the resolution"
Er, yeah, it would. The way games are designed is that they're made to run on a certain technology based off certain assets. When you take a game off the Wii and port it to a different system, you're trying to get the game to work on technology it wasn't designed for. It's not just a matter of 'Take the game's programming, hit CTRL+C, paste it in HD template, done'; programme...
"Muramasa, MadWorld, The Conduit"
I like how people lump these games together as if they're even remotely comparable experiences. It's the surest sign not only that the person doing so hasn't actually played the games, but lacks even a basic working knowledge of what these games *are* beyond abstract talking points.
"It was some weird fps art project on rail with puzzles"
And No More Heroes is some weird brawler project with a completely useless overworld and mini-games.
"NMH however is your conventional and straighforward action game"
If by 'conventional' and 'straight-forward', you mean 'eight hours of mini-game grinding in between the actual action', then yes.

Most of the information from the scans has been translated/summarized here.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
From the looks of it, it appears to be a straight port of the original game with Japanese dubbing, standard controls, and a mode where the female characters wear alternate costumes. Enhanced graphics are assumed but unverified due to Famitsu's infamously terrible screens...
"it just happens that now it will be enhanced and played the way it was meant to be played: Achievements/trophies, Next-gen technology, more enemies on screen/polygons, and online play"
You guys haven't read the actual details of the scan, have you? This is not going to be some sort of massive, ground-up undertaking. It's a graphically enhanced port with standard controls, Japanese dubbing, and a mode where the female characters wear bathing suit costumes. And an 'Ero...
"I knew once they announced the PS3 motion wand we'd be seeing all sorts of Wii ports."
Er, except the release date reported by Famitsu is February 25. Unless Sony's releasing its wand waaaay ahead of schedule, motion control in the HD versions is looking doubtful.
"So what, is it going to be a $19.99 or $29.99 Downloadable game? Cause I can't see many 360/PS3 gamers putting down 60smackers for a year old Wii port."
"It better be budget priced (and by that I mean $19.99"
According to the Famitsu scan, it's going to be selling for 5800 yen, which if my conversion rates are right, comes out to something like $65 American.
But, uh, on the bright side, PS3 and 360 owners get a mode where the f...
Let the good times roll.
I believe you're thinking of Panzer Dragoon.

Come on, Nintendo of America, do the right thing. Give us a concrete release date already.
"when the radio sounded funny it was time for terribly clunky, unresponsive controls to survive."
Indeed. Scariest part of the original games.
