So, wait, one studio's making the Wii version while the other studio is handling the PS3, PS2, PSP, and DS versions?
Interesting division of labor, I guess. I would have thought things would be grouped by consoles/handhelds or motion control/traditional control.
"As long as it has a catchy name, logo, and stream of commercials, you can guarantee it will sell with little effort in development of technology."
If things were that easy, there would be a lot more game companies pulling down ten figures in profit each year.
"In new zelda it is linear to a fault. NES zelda gave you some choices. There are dungeons you can just walk into out of order and beat."
In all fairness, one can beat dungeons in new Zeldas out of order as well, provided one is skillful enough. The games just don't actively encourage sequence breaking, so if you're holding the developer's hand, then yes, you're only going go where he wants you to. Tell that hand to buzz off, however, and... oh the places you will go....
There's an app for that.
"the nintendo 3rd party effect in action"
Not really. There are plenty of successful 3rd party games on those systems. Cing just made the mistake of not diversifying its efforts.
Just think, if they had made the modicum of effort required to release just *one* title like Carnival Games in addition to all those other games, then they could have paid off that 'insurmountable debt' ten times over.
"But the only thing I found to be worth the trip there was the awesome list of games coming to Wii the first half of this year."
I like how the article acts like lists are the way to win over people to his argument, even though it's pretty obvious how most people who weren't already interested are going to react:
Max & The Magic Marker- i liked it better when it was called crayon physics.
Fragile- would excite me if i was a 5 year old girl.
...
"This is a joke article, right?"
Oh, the article is a joke, but it's not a joke article.
The joke is that someone actually got paid to write it.

Modern Warfare II Wii/DS edition. Coming soon to game shelves near you, Winter 2011.
The memory of the staff at IGN extends only to the most recent press conference. Remember Tatsunoko vs. Capcom or Desperate Struggle? Of course not -- because those games don't exist!
When E3 rolls around and Nintendo promos whatever Vitality Sensor games they have in queue, it will be back to business as usual.
Good grief, IGN is such a worthless site.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that this is what Sakamoto's wanted to work on since the original. So the Metroid project he's wanted to make for all these decades has apparently been... a Final Fantasy game? Can't say I was expecting that one.
Is this really the sort of game Capcom should be pushing demos for? I was always under the impression that demos work best when it comes to accessible games that don't require a lot of time to get used to the controls, design, and general feel, and while Monster Hunter games are many things, accessible is not one of them. I foresee a lot of people getting turned off when it turns out that button mashing is not a particularly viable method of actually hunting monster.
Haters gonna hate?
I'm not certain why Cammie's comment is getting so much stock put into it. Iwata already said Zelda was on schedule to come out 2010 without any question marks at the end, and he's kind of the president of the whole company.
Whoa, english voice acting that isn't completely terrible. As a fan of the original, I'm not certain how I feel about this. :/
Who-hoa. Careful there. Them's fightin' words.
Rough time to be a gamer's wallet, I guess.
Finally. This news makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
