Definitely not. The gameplay in GTA absolutely sucks. There is no freedom to the mission structure and the open world while pretty is lifeless and boring. The thousands of NPCs in Watch Dogs Legion have names, occupations, lives, schedules, perks, quirks, friends, family and enemies. It's generations above GTA in simulating a world. The gameplay also offers stealth hacking, assault, melee and more as options in combat and mission structure. There is so much more fun to be had. The writing...

If you read the article the "expansion" he is talking about is making the games easier and simpler so more people will play them.

I really liked Detroit but I didn't care for any of their other games. Hopefully it lives up to that one.
Vagrant Story is the only one I would go back to play. In certain ways it still hasn't been matched. The dialog and visual direction are of amazing quality and the music is absolutely superb.

No, Horizon and God of War Ragnarok will each get about half of the big GOTY awards with a few Souls devotees throwing it to Elden Ring. I'll be playing them all but let's be honest From games are AA. Great quality AA but the lack of production values shows at every level. They have gotten less inventive with their boss battles as well which used to be the best part of the series. Demon's Souls and Bloodborne were their best works. If 18 million people have access to the game for no additional charge what difference does it make how many took advantage of that? One would assume that if you are a devoted enough gamer to have a game subscription you would at least try every new AAA game that come to the platform. Xbox is Halo, Gears, Forza. If you don't like those games you wouldn't have an Xbox and certainly wouldn't have Gamepass. You don't even need to find hard drive space to become a "player"...

Meh. The stories were never good. Unlikable characters, 5th grade racist humor and excessive swearing. Other open world games have surpassed it in every way especially in gameplay. I'd much rather play a new Watch Dogs than a new GTA. The AI world they created in that game is so much more advanced and the gameplay offers so many more choices and freedoms to approach missions.
As stated in the article the reflections are almost all still cube maps and the only actual ray tracing is where the car reflects on itself.
Doesn't seem any different besides not going hollow they just renamed bonfires and souls.
Gamepass wasn't on Android then so is it actually a fair comparison?

It all rests in the boss fights for me. The best ones were those that had unique solutions and tactics so they weren't just normal enemies with bigger health bars.
@therealtedcruz I've played Detroit and Until Dawn and Detroit is far and away the superior game. Lance Henriksen's portrayal of Carl especially was a tour de force performance. I wouldn't recommend playing it more than once as the freedom of choice presented isn't as real as it could have been but it's definitely worth one play through. The themes of what it means to be human are not necessarily new ground but they are very relevant as AI has already shown many times that...
