Reading the patent it sounds like they are working on a cloud streaming stand alone VR headset. If they can use this technique to overcome latency issues it could be an absolute game changer. The light weight of a mobile headset like Oculus but with the graphical grunt of a top of the line PC.

Shouldn't even be needed. The best way to avoid VR sickness is to look around use your whole head while keeping your eyes fixed forward.
