Part of the problem a lot of people had with GTAIv was that in a lot of ways it was a step back for the series as a whole.
No car or character customization like in SA, much smaller game world compared to SA, kinda lame ass soundtrack compared to the VC and SA ones, and with the exception of the bank heist most of the missions were done in some form in the previous games.
Really, the only thing that improved was the graphics.
Not true. Twisted Metal 2, Jet Moto and ESPN Xtreme games made it to PC. Those were 11 years ago, though.
JRPG's by the "bucket load"? What, some Tales game, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey? Never played tales or Blue Dragon, but have played Lost Odyssey. Mediocre, at best.
Ill wait for White Knight, thanks.
You say that almost like you think it doesn't go the other way as well. PS3 fanboys jump on 360 fanboys as often and for as little reason as 360 fanboys jump on PS3 fanboys.
Both groups of you people are equally pathetic, which gives you some common ground in spite of your disparate console preference.
Online was awful. The single player was better but, and this may sound ludicrous but in my opinion its true, the repetitive gameplay got in the way of me enjoying the story and the cut-scenes.
Its a purely run'n'gun action game. Beautiful graphics, too.
The local used game store nearby had a few used copies of MGS4 for sale when I went in there a little over a week after it was released. The quality of the game doesnt make a difference. People will always buy, play, finish and resell them almost immediately.
You aren't supporting some annoying clerk, he's just some average guy working some horrid retail job to pay the bills. It's not like he works on commission or anything.
Its the same way here in the US. Look at the Gamestop website. The have the trade in value of MGS4 at $25, and I can guaran-damn-tee that you wouldnt find it for anything less than $55, used, in their store.
I understand the desire to stop it, I just don't see how it can be done.
Personally, I won't buy a used game unless its a PSX game that is no longer available at regular retail, as i'd rather spend the extra $5 and support the company who actually put the time and money into developing it, instead of giving the douche who owns gamestop a nice $30 profit for keeping it in their back room for a few days.
A new Chrono game, Xenogears, KH3 or anythign other than a remake of any old game. please.
I think there was a VIII demo with Brave Fencer Mushashi, as well. The XII demo cam with DQ8 as well
"and there were plenty of reviews out that highlighted the problems with the PS3 version of the game. If you didn't take the time to inform yourself regarding a $60 purchase then you have no one to blame but yourself. Crappy ports HAPPEN they happen on all systems, yet because the PS3 got a crappy port then it has to be flooded all over the net every single day"
For the record, the numerous previews did prevent me from buying this game. You're right, crappy ports happen...
"which is more than can be said for Sony exclusive developers that don't even try to bring their games to any other format except Sony's."
I don't understand why you keep bringing this part up, either. What does one have to do with the other?
You can suppose people would complain all you want to if there was no ps3 port, it's still irrelevant. The port was made, and it was complete garbage. Either do a thing right, or don't do it at all. As it is, they just screwed over their consumers.
You seem to not understand the difference.
IF they had decided to not port it to ps3 at all, that's one thing. To have the game ported by someone else, put their name on it, make money, and then not address the numerous issues in the game is something completely different.
And I care about as much as I did back when it was "only on Xbox".
Derr, he was obviously quoting Ralph Wiggum.
zomg, Sony is teh dead! LOL!
I like how, in spite of the first Fable failing to live up to the hype, the second one is guaranteed to be a AAA exclusive in your eyes. Let's not even get into the "exclusive" aspect, as it's all but 100% guaranteed both gears and fable will show up on PC in 6 months to a year.
I'd love to hype the hell out of KillZone 2, but im no fool. Since everything ive seen shows it to be a spectacular game, I remember GG failed to deliver anything but an average game with their ...
