sounds like Gears of War but reminds me of Advent Rising
if only because you mod your console maybe. But they aren't connecting to Xbox Live so there shouldn't be anny detection of system link connections over the internet.
it is much better this way since Live should have been for other things not just raping people for simple online play.
problem is some games don't offer system link (some because they know Xlink Kai lets you bypass Xbox Live).
for games that have system link, you connect your Xbox to a computer (or if they run it from the console) a program called Xlink Kai, it will let you connect to other consoles using system link instead of Xbox Live to play games over the internet. Currently you're not able to use system link to connect to people over the internet unless you mod your console and apply this hack and use Xlink Kai to make system link connections over the internet.
which hopefully means they will tunnel with each other and stay off of Live.
what would have been better then NFS Paradise? or NFS Underground 3 (forcing Criterion to make a real sandbox racing game with first person elements).
same with Fragile Allegiance, and Syndicate Wars.. CDs in magazines with demos and trials.
how the hell are you supposed to cut Fable III into parts? you're supposed to be King ruling over a singluar kingdom... I'm too confused to care about this stupid man and his stupid game.
if they make enough money RTW can get back to non-mmos.
nope. Video takes up the most space after textures. Audio would have been higher in something like GTA, but how much dialog do you hear in Crackdown, virtually none compared to GTA?
best part was buffing out the vehicles... which they dumped. :(
Not unless you want that on a bluray, or have a massive harddrive and great internet connection.
In one of the articles posted recently on the topic, Ruffian was aiming squarely at performance (online performance), so they would have focused on compressing everything.
But consider that they SHOULD be working on DLC, not Ruffian but that other studio, Proper Games. What they left out of the retail game they'll certainly offer to you at a premium later. This I have no problem with but for a fully priced game which needs PDLC just after it ships (sounds almost like M...
odd, i was led to believe it lacked an internal processor and so also needed a core to itself, if not 1-2 processing threads.
Whoo possibility of another Unreal Tournament
but that's one the things IDK why they want Zombies and not enemies who can stand toe to toe with you. Granted once you've leveled to 5 in strength you get the 'agile' hunter freaks that spit killer acid... they go down in a couple of melee hits and never really get close enough to melee you. Shouldn't the game have more deadly enemies without rely so heavily on them just swarming you?
:3 so in addition to having the chopper upgrade into an attack jet, it...
but that's all Molyneux wants to put into his games... he must be devastated. Meanwhile I'd be glad if it was being killed by sensibles over at MS who understand the market and the limitations of their hardware a little better. and if it prompt MS to get Lionhead working on BW for their new console.
It needs a new city
They just need to do simple things to win me over, (well not so simple) black and white reboot, crimsons Skies, any car game where you can work on the car by crawling all over it and miming the actions of bolting on new parts, and what that idiot box Molyneux has beeen bleeting about all these years about having a first person game where you can reach out and touch people (which should be mass effect, also because you should be able to do gestures to launch biotic attacks/powers).
...
and this I totally disagree with, since Crackdown was announced, MANY people expected it to be bigger than GTA and very much let down that it was nerfed to carry the Halo beta. the second doesn't do anything to feel like a full (single player) experience either. Maybe it isn't the point, and Ruffian as focusing on multiplayer, that's a shame.
what do you expect from a 5 year old console and an 18 month (claimed) development cycle for a game that is focused on multiplayer, not graphics?
