I think it's pretty obvious the PS3 is going to have a 10 year cycle. Sony said it was going to happen. Just because the PS3 is around for 10 years doesn't mean that they are not going to release a next gen console wither in 2013 or 2014. They will just have 3rd party support continue for the PS3 while Sony concentrates on the PS4. Just like how the PS2 is STILL selling and being supported.

The 360 should be $100 or less by now. But it's not. It's still over $200. If Sony had released this new SUPER SLIM at a $150 stripped down with a 12gb HDD, they could have sold it for $150. People are just going to run out and buy a cheap TB HDD for $50 anyways. This way, Sony continues with low manufacturing costs and they will get more sales from a mass market price.

greenpowerz is right cr33ping_death. PS1 had major issues with the system over heating and thus resulting in not reading the disc. You even had to flip the console over to get it to work but when the PS2 came out....it became the #1 selling console of that gen.

I still think my Launch PHAT PS3 is better looking. I just love the shiny finish on it. If anything were to happen to it *knock on wood* I will be looking for the current Slim model. If none are in retailers, then I am hitting up ebay, craigslist or Amazon for it.

Well I think we need to look at this objectively.
Out of the trilogy, ME1 was the only game within the trilogy to be on the 360. A game that is 6 years old and has only sold 2.67 million units.
Needless to say there is little to no demand right now for the first ME game. MS got every cent they could have out of the ME sales.
It seems like EA just wants to make a bit of extra money by releasing a Trilogy box set. MS knows they are not going...

Once Sony has Phased out the current SLIM with the SUPER SLIM, then you can start paying more for less if you wish. Hopefully not because you would have been smart enough to buy the SLIM NOW rather then the SUPER SLIM later.
