I see the problem as supporting a company that uses underhanded tactics to trying to siphon money off us. By implementing, or trying to, policies without a clear advantage for consumers but plenty for the greedy companies, Microsoft has shown its colors.

While all companies want to make money, Microsoft withholds things from you if you don't pay for XboX Live. Sony gives you so so so much, and just now has asked for psplus to play online, to improve the network. I say &q...

You my good sir, are a clown. dedicated please do not respond any longer. He doesn't seem to realize that multiple issues have multiple perspectives and wishes to corner people into one or another in order to argue his point. to him every discussion is an argument not a trading of ideas.

So if Microsoft had done something similar, without all the extra windows bloat, this would have been dead in the water.

The steam machine is essentially what Microsoft should have done with games for windows live. Microsoft could have made a new gaming OS, based on their windows system, and took a huge chunk of operations out to improve performance.

Also if my understanding is correct, Steam Machines use a new Steam OS? And if so with the new OS, would older games need to be modded to run on it?

LOL, Love to see Swayze rise from his grave and make a new Double Deuce out of IGN.

But seriously, IGN used to be games, now it is everything entertainment, and the news is still often crap. They have a video of a guy reading the news article or review that can be read just below the video. He basically reads it WORD for WORD. Sometimes they post the video of the guy reading before the actual article, which would only make sense if the video offered something more visual tha...

I agree with you Dedicated. Though I do not think the problem all lies simply with the ahem "journalists" but lies with the medium.

With the internet, information is constant. It is also unconstrained by conventions of proper journalism. People reporting on news need every table scrap they can get and hopefully get the scoop that will get them more clicks. Anchorman 2 did a wonderful satire part on a 24hr news cycle getting ratings by offering sensationalist nonsen...

You would be correct in that I minimalized the seriousness. I forgot the specific incident and wrote it down half hazardly. Sorry for the insensitivity.

I wasn't saying they don't but that relations make business partnerships more strained.

I blame the ease that people can write a review and get people to read it.

When I read a review, I look at who's reviewing it. For instance in the old Reviews on the Run with Vic and Tommy I would listen to one more than the other depending on the game. If the game was and rpg Victor would get my ear more than Tommy because Tommy didn't like them and was usually all negative nancy. A violent action game Tommy usually would tell me if he had fun and Victor would get m...

Awesome !! now can we just have a developer say it, or a publisher.

People really have nothing better to do with their lives than to find fault with others, however real or perceived, and take up a crusade. The Extremists might use terror to bully people into thinking what they want, the suburban nutjob uses the internet to bully. And everyone is a victim unless they think like they do.

It is interesting to note that nationalist Japanese call the Chinese "their dirty cousin". I am not making that up nor am I trying to promote the idea, but business ventures by japanese in china are often fought against by both sides. There is also a great political debate about who caused a massacre in some war. I forget the details but they are not the greatest of neighbors, even though they come from very common heritages.

What ever happened to a story that was about having a problem, setting out on quest to solve it and realizing it was a bigger problem. And in doing so the journey changed the main character and all those around them into better people, or in some cases their true evil came out. And the relationships

I know it may sound cliche but that type of story essentially emulates real life. The experiences we go through show our true colors. Final Fantasy used to be about all those thi...

I agree with ReiBooi, bubble up to you sir!

But I still look upon XV with trepidation. I wrote a blog about franchises and their signature: A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME WOULD SMELL... SWEETER. I hope that the balance is better.

My biggest feature would be actual control over other party characters when need arises.

@fanboy

Yes we see that there have been cons, i do not think anyone doesn't see them, But i really do not think you see the pros with anything, you must have a really negative life.

While awesome that people can connect with the experience, and also awesome that the people making it could connect and see their fruitage, I am really curious of at least some of the contents of that letter.

Good analysis! Where does the line be drawn?

The problem I see with copyright infringement is that it is both at times very hard and very easy to prove damages. For instance in a Let's Play Scenario, the entire game is played through, thus effectively ensuring that some people have not bought the game and played it like they may have. But where games have gotten complicated not everyone has time to go through all the different endings and maybe they simply want to see par...

Awesome points, more people should be reasonable like yourself.

I really enjoyed the part with article you referenced about the man watching the kids play. They simply enjoyed themselves, and all he could see was faults. Kinda points to the cynicism of adults and the innocence of children, and that we should all be a little more like children.

I agree that we should enjoy life (and by extension video games) by what we merit. not on the backs of others faults...

Really? Keep in mind when a company reports losses it is not that they actually did not make a Profit off earned Revenue. It was that they did not make as much Profit as expected. Sony with their state have not been able to pay enough dividends to Shareholders thus the lowering of their stock value. The amount of assets and technology owned by Sony, and all the cash the Walkman, Discman, Blu-ray and a slew of other items they bank cash on has them in no way close of shuttering their doors. ...
