Yea... no sorry. The loading screens was because of the ps3's slower blu ray drive. To compensate for the rea -time portions were installed and deleted as required so as not to compromise the experience. Mgs4 was and still is a pinnacle of graphics for the ps3. Kojima has always pushed graphics on the systems he develops for just look at all the games on each system.

Yea they started working on it shortly after mgs peace walker shipped in 2010. And after mgs rising went to platinum. Probably had alot of work done before the new gen came and told them what was happening. Mgs4 started in 2005 after release of mgs3 and Sony made sure they knew about ps3.
This game will look awesome, but unfortunately lots of the assets probably weren't built with next gen in mind. I think the fox engine can be upgraded but the old systems are holding it...
I am not certain as it has only been since the ps4 needing to play online, it is a good question, but hasn't come up. I know that my uncle only needs my psn on his system to get access to my games, and does not need to be logged into mine to play them, so we just have systems with dual accounts and it gives us access to each others games. When Snake Eater came out for PS2, it was truly a next gen game. The only thing that was less was the graphics. The CQC, sniper battle, and all the awesome story sequences made it a next gen game before the ps3 was announced.
From experience I can surely say that graphics are only a small part of a generation leap.
