Playing through Metal Gear 2 again.

I really enjoy that look, but it's obviously not going to look like something run on a high-end PC since it's only been used with consoles so far.

Mediocre? It looks amazing. Well, maybe I'm saying that because I don't have a beefed up PC to play games on, but GZ looks really really nice even on Xbox 360.

Review scores are actually lower than they should be due to reviewers incorrectly putting the cost per hour into account. A more-objective review of anything should not do that.

That being said, gamers are well aware of the cost per hour whether reviews say it or not.

But to film reviewers dislike short films for being short? Do television reviewers take into account the price for cable? No. People know it's expensive for it's length, but that has absolutely nothing to do with reviews.

Well, Japanese developers tend to not put AAA games on PC because there isn't really a market for them in Japan. I'm not saying that's rational, but that's literally the reason they don't.

Yeah. It is. I think DLC better describes it than 'demo'.

Unfortunately, there's no platinum trophy.

@Divine Assault I'm getting it on 360 tomorrow.

I'm just bothered that some people don't understand this. EVERY other kind of review that isn't a video game review takes into account neither the length nor price.

Reviewers in other mediums understand that it's up to the consumer to determine if price or length is a problem. Reviews should always judge quality alone.

That's because Famitsu knows that price or length shouldn't be taken into account. I'm not saying they're always dead on, but they at least get that right.

It's trash because it's short? Pirate it then if the price bothers you.

Besides that, you haven't even played the game.

I honestly think reviews ought to judge based on quality, and they shouldn't consider the price per hour or anything like that.

Do movie reviews take into account the price of a ticket compared to how long the movie was to formulate a score? Absolutely not.

Not a good review if it even takes price into account at all...

It changed RPGs in general too. I'd argue it has more charm than Final Fantasy, but I personally prefer Final Fantasy.

No, I actually believe this statement. He's going for only a few, one camera cutscenes that transition better into the gameplay. We've actually known this since well over a year ago when GZ was first revealed.

I guess. But it should be controversial for the right reasons. It should be so well thought out and opinionated that it offends some people despite being inoffensive in it's message.

I've been more mad about the rhetoric since it clearly isn't a demo. I was just pulling that 'doesn't like it so he's not a fan' crap since I was a bit too angry about the whole affair.

Anyone berating this as a 'demo' clearly isn't much of Metal Gear fan. I doubt half of these same people that are still outraged by it would have bought the game in the first place.

Ugh. People seriously still believe that Ground Zeroes will be included with The Phantom Pain for free... In the beginning, it WAS implied they were separate. Then after GDC, it seemed like they were one release and that was REALLY implied at e3 2013. Then at some random point, it was revealed they were separate.

I understand replacing like NES era music in remakes of NES games because that kind of music is out of place in anything but 8-bit games, but anything after that does not need a reworked soundtrack... at all.

4365d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm a little disappointed to learn that there is no option to use the OST. I never understand why a lot of remakes need to redo the entire soundtrack unnecessarily.
