@coolbeans I still think video game reviews are way too based on value, especially with Ground Zeroes where almost every reason I see for negative reviews is simply the value. I don't believe that's what a review should be about, since at some point, the price will be irrelevant.
For my example about short films, I said nothing about the price.
My example about television was off though, I will admit. A better statement would have been, "A televi...
Well, that makes sense considering the Big Boss seen in the MSX2 originals.
While I think it's fine that they have a redone soundtrack, I really really wish they had included the OST. I mean, what's the honest reason not to? Good RPG ports like Persona 2: Innocent Sin PSP and Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection had an option for the OST. I wish that was a standard for these ports/remakes.
I'm probably getting this at some point just to play it on my Vita.
This makes me want to build a good ass PC.
@The key word is may. The game looks pretty cool so far.
@I was referring to the 2011 trailer that showed more.
Is some person just going through and disliking every comment on this? Why?
I've yet to play a flat out bad Final Fantasy game. So I agree that it should continue.
XIII is the only one really guilty of that. XV seems more open so far.
I thought they would stick with turn-based with XV, but I'm fine with their decision to give versus the limelight of being a main series entry as long as they go back to turn-based for XVI. And from the trailers, XV at least seems like more of a Final Fantasy game than XIII.
Which entry did they hit before you said, "that's not really much of a Final Fantasy game". For me, it was XIII. I really liked it, but it felt so distant from earlier entries.
The majority of MGSV isn't even out yet and it's already had 3 big controversies. The first was if Kojima would be able to deal with issues like race. The second was Quiet. The third was the length/pricing of Ground Zeroes.
Good.
Yeah, I'll say it's mostly nostalgia. I only played it recently on the 3DS and it's a great, playable game, but not the greatest of all time. Hell, I prefer Link's Awakening, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.
lol the censoring actually makes it a bit more disturbing...
That's up to consumers though. They know it's expensive for it's price.
A review simply judges quality.
A film reviewer doesn't complain about a short film because it's short.
A television reviewer doesn't rate a show lower because the price for cable recently increased across the board.
If it was free, what score would you give it? Because that's what score reviewers should give it.
Price shouldn't count into reviews. We're aware of the price.
*do
One doesn't really notice the textures that aren't as good as they're playing though.
I'm going to go with the unpopular answer here: no. The value of the game should be judged based on the quality of the game and shouldn't be swayed by the price. Granted, it does suck when a game doesn't deliver bang for buck.
