Good, but not surprising. It's been forever since they last released an original Metroid game that wasn't basically DoA. If this wasn't the best selling of the series, I would be deeply concerned considering the volume of Switch systems on the market compared to the GameCube, GBA, and earlier.
As they've spent years basically just cashing in on GTA Online and making the lives of fans that dare to make mods and fan projects hell. I feel zero pity for a company that is losing literally nothing to a modding community releasing mods for free.
I feel like Nintendo thinks this is good news, but can anyone imagine how irrelevant the Switch is going to feel in another four years? Mobile hardware aiming to compete in the home console space can't have an 8 - 10 year generation. It's just not there yet for what Nintendo is using, but they're clearly scared of giving up any of the Switch success by screwing up their follow up console (which isn't hard to understand).
It just sucks that us gamers are the ...
I mean, even with chip shortages, the PS5 is selling insanely well and yet is a far cry from meeting demand. It really highlights that even if production wasn't being impacted by the silicon issues plaguing the electronics industry, odds are still next to zero that they would be meeting demand even now.
I mean, the "duh" comments are fine and great, but this article makes a world of sense if you've seen the mountain of critical comparison to Persona 5. SMTV has been called Persona 5 without the heart. The comparisons are happening, and this is a niche series where many didn't know about it until Persona 5 blew up. Helping less educated gamers know what to actually expect is something this series clearly needs so people figure out how to balance expectations.
And Sony got dragged over the coals for it. Bad press, bad sales, practically couldn't give the PlayStation Classic away. Yet I'm sure people are robotically tossing money at Nintendo for this mess, bad press be damned.
There always have to be Nintendo apologists which is why they can just forever get away with these half-assed overpriced non-efforts. Remember that first and foremost you're paying for the ability to use online services, then simply ask yourself if the $50 for NSO gets you the same value and performance as PS+ or Xbox Live Gold. Packaging in a few games you'll play probably once, maybe twice over the lifetime of your NSO membership does not suddenly make it okay to leave the core part...
Lackluster retro game selection, exceptionally slow improvement, and quite literally more than 10 years behind the competition in online features and infrastructure. Is that worth paying $50 a year to mostly just use the garbage online service? Even game selection aside, Nintendo hasn't earned the right to even charge the $20 per month they do, much less $50. Although more desirable game platforms would help, it would be a lot nicer if they just had a competent, modern online service that...
I'm glad we're at the point where these articles will finally be able to stop. Can't be salty as hell about the next fighter if there is no next fighter.
And as well know it will quickly tank again once people realize how little the game has to offer.
To date, Kairi is a plot device; she isn't much of an actual character. She's there to give actual characters motivation in different ways while otherwise being fairly unremarkable. She's not made to be the center of things. She's simply there to motivate Sora and Riku as necessary. She has been involved just enough that her continued presence in future games can be justified, and that's it.
People who expect more from KH for Kairi should really go back,...
I would suggest you check out the LTT video posted today that specifically addresses burn in issues with OLED panels. Despite how common manufacturers are trying to make it, it's still a fairly new and unrefined technology with the very basis of how it works lending itself to burn in. I use a Galaxy S9, a modern phone with an OLED display, and I have burn in. It's not a myth. It doesn't just affect hardware from the inception of OLED. I suggest education over assumptions in order ...
Just avoid OLED screens. They have major burn in issues, and if you tend to have extended handheld gaming sessions, well, I just hope you enjoy eventually seeing static screen elements from your game of choice faintly visible in every game. The overstated benefits of OLED aren't worth the long term drawbacks.
Same experience for me. Overall great stuff at 1440p, just that pop in of ground and grass textures mostly, and one area of the second castle that seemed to have some issues maintaining the frame rate in particular. I have no major complaints though.
Seriously articles like this need to be failed. It's like when RDR2 came out and within the week there were just dozens of approved guide articles spoiling every unique side quest in the game plastering the main article list on here. I feel lucky that I just got past this part literally less than two hours ago so that I couldn't be exposed to another spoiler on N4G, the site that needs one hell of an article approval method revision. Half these sites can just approve their own article...
A lot of sports games sales aren't people that would call themselves gamers. They're just sports fans that want more ways to interact with their sport of choice and their favorite players. In that respect, they'll happily spend $60 - $70+ every year for games that have steadily just become roster updates because that's all they really want out of the new version. It's why Ghost of Tsushima is more relevant for gaming news and what is prioritized for this article, as that n...
They wrote themselves into a corner. How do you get more absurd than superpowers in a simulation that you're using to hack an entire alien race that blew up Earth and enslaved your gang turned US Presidental team? They already tried going to Hell, and all that got was a lukewarm response in general. Fighting demons and the devil already was just too par for the course for the series. It wasn't a good sign.
They just couldn't get more absurd without alienating or...
If you're going to complete a run, it won't be more than maybe 40 minutes. If you're going to fail a run, it will be much less. As someone that has put 100+ hours into this game on PC, trust me, it doesn't need any feature clearly directed towards more linear or generally longer gaming experiences or sessions. Even the most indecisive gamer that insists on needing quick resume can boot up the game and resume a run or start a new one within at most a minute anyways.
What is with all these god awful articles trying so hard to downplay the Steam Deck? It's a portable PC that prioritizes access to the best library of digital games on the internet. It doesn't need additional hardware gimmicks, predatory game subscription models, or any other garbage.
Yes, I'm sure developers are racing to be managed by the company notorious for Cyberpunk 2077, one of the best examples of a horribly mismanaged game ever seen.
