Yeah, I wish people would actually look at the game before going full console war or absurd expectations. Of course any game that doesn't push the hardware can leverage the extra to maximize performance. It's just common sense.
Though I admit, I get some laughs out of everyone suddenly being pseudo hardware experts, as if the hardware has ever truly mattered at the end of the day compared to simply having quality exclusives anyways.
I have Pistol Whip on my Oculus Quest, and it's pretty solid. Most of the music choices really aren't up my alley since most of these rhythm based games go for the dubstep sound with the prominent bass and electronic sounds, but it's a fun and surprisingly active concept. It definitely takes practice to effectively shoot on the beat.
Not surprising at all. Atlus is traditionally picky with where they release Shin Megami Tensei games and their spin-offs. Like how mainline Persona games have only released on PlayStation consoles and handhelds until today, with the only concession being made for the game that was locked to the sadly horribly selling Vita.
Pyro, they literally showed it as part of the exclusive reel at the end of the show lol
I just can't take reviews like this seriously. Not only is Outer Worlds objectively nowhere near perfect (not that it's bad), but the Switch version in particular is a technical mess which should absolutely bring down its score.
It's fine to like a game being reviewed (really it's a big positive for the personal experience), but this is the difference between playing a game for fun and playing a game in order to form an educated opinion to try to inform othe...
Free to play with Destiny 2 means:
Year 1 content is totally free. This includes the first campaign, Warmind, and Curse of Osiris.
Base modes are all free which includes PvP Crucible, PvE/PvP hybrid Gambit, and PvE strikes, dungeons, and Year 1 raids.
What isn't free:
The Forsaken expansion, the Shadowkeep expansion, and the upcoming Beyond Light expansion. These all primarily include the campaigns and also unlock relevant raid conte...
Microsoft's crossplay propaganda was just that: propaganda. They wanted to be seen as the white knights of industry togetherness, so they pushed likely unreasonable terms on Sony (like Xbox Live integration akin to Minecraft on the Switch) and then cried to the press when Sony didn't agree to the terms. To note, this is likely Microsoft's past desire that killed any previous Sony initiated proposal.
After it was clear nobody actually cared, Microsoft shut up, an...
As someone with CoD installed, more than once I've wished I could delete content like the campaign to reduce the overall file size.
The base game isn't gone; it's just stashed a bit and only gives a quest marker after buying Forsaken, triggering all the campaign stuff at once.
You can play all the pre-Forsaken campaigns though by talking to Amanda Holliday in the Hanger at the Tower.
Although I understand the sentiment, I have a hard time getting on board with the slippery slope approach. This only works at all because the game has adopted the free to play model which most other major subscription based MMOs will only ever do as a last ditch effort to revive their games.
As well, Curse of Osiris is the least offensive one they could remove. It's a criminally short campaign that even most free players completed months and months ago, myself included....
Expansions don't cost $60, but feel free to try again. As a Destiny 2 player, I do acknowledge that Shadowkeep was... disappointing, but I also got my $30 or $35 of fun, so at the end of the day they still have me for Beyond Light.
Edit: Also consider the fact that Bungie was pushed by Activision into making a Destiny 2 when their roadmap was far more spaced and would have likely evolved into a single product like any other MMO. Many people like me didn't get into ...
Yeah, it's interesting how these breaches get so little attention, but Sony so much as sneezes and this site's strangely Nintendo shilling community is all over it.
Although that isn't completely false, you totally misinterpreted what I said.
As an aside though, let's say Animal Crossing sold 300k its first week (which would be insanely good first week numbers). 10% of that would only be 30k which wouldn't be impressive in the slightest.
I mean, it's doing okay. Reaching number one during a lapse in major releases doesn't really mean much no matter what the game. For example, did you know that Last of Us 2 will be number one when it releases? At the end of the day, I'm just not seeing even 10% of the conversation and attention Animal Crossing got just a couple of months prior for Xenoblade, which makes sense considering it's a remaster of a game that has already been released twice before.
FF7R is 150% an action RPG that simply has some turn based friendly elements lol
It's like saying Kingdom Hearts isn't an action RPG.
The trick with DOOM in particular is that it's stupidly well optimized. The game runs like a champ even on total potato PCs. Even then, it took time to get DOOM running decently on Switch. It wasn't a simple just make x run on y procedure.
Outer Worlds is by no means a poorly optimized game, but like with many other games, it wasn't designed in a way that allows easy and effective downscaling to lesser powered hardware. Outer Worlds is basically the poster child...
The Digital Foundry review recorded frame rate dips especially in combat. Like consistent low 20s and even dips below, which, you may be able to gather, make a shooting game very hard to play.
Any high ratings are people being overly forgiving because, understandably, they probably don't want to shit all over an originally unexpected third party Switch port of a game that is still somewhat relevant. A bad port is a bad port though, and everything I've seen makes thi...
April and May are probably more disappointing. Stores have been restocked at such a trickle that people are using bots to easily snatch up the minimal stock for that eBay money.
Generally speaking, I don't expect we'll hear a ton about detailed sales again for another few months.
It's tough to call this competition. It's more strong arming. Valve doesn't have the Fortnite and China cash to throw around that it would take for deals like this to happen so consistently.
It's one of the reasons I really don't support the Epic Game Store. What they're doing isn't healthy in the long term for the industry if people actually value competition.
Honestly, what is with the disparity in exclusive reactions?
Nintendo: You either love it or you're so wrong that your right to an opinion gets revoked.
Sony: Everyone feels the need to say the games aren't as good as they are because after over 20 years, people can't seem to accept that Sony first party games are actually usually really good.
Microsoft: Either you care as much as Phil Spencer or you don't care at all. ...
