You have to duplicate files a lot for HDDs compared to SSDs as well because of the much lower seek times.
That's why so many last gen games were way bigger than you'd expect - lots of the same file being needed in different places so you basically duplicate it all over the place to keep loading efficient (at the cost of storage). It was an awkward but necessary workaround.
The context never actually matters though. When Tell Me Why got revealed, people also said the exact same thing even though it was about the main character in story-driven game. People always frame it as pandering, virtue signaling and so on because they don't want to see transgender and non-binary people in media ... but know outright saying that is wrong. That's why they're disliking your comment more than others even though they agree. You're being too honest about it.

*don't have Activision to blame
I can definitely see it.
A lot of people will be using free trials of PS Now and Game Pass to see what these upgrades feel like.
Most people are downloading the games, not streaming them.
If the story about a singer creating an Irish piece for a famous PlayStation remake is anything to go by, then the MGS1 Remake won't be announced until the Game Awards (according to the singer).
We can agree to differ on controls, but their game physics (and tech in general) are some of the best out there. The entertainment from the physics is a big factor in their long-lasting appeal.
RDR2, GTA5 and most Rockstar games, tbh, were way ahead of their time in that regard.
This is a way bigger upgrade than I was expecting, tbh.
When they Rockstar said that they wanted to keep the original look of these games, I expected them to look 99% the same. haha.
I'd rather play GTA 3 than almost any NES or SNES game, and the vast majority of people prefer games from the 6th gen (PS2/GC/Xbox/DC) to those gens. The PS2 is regularly voted as the best console ever, i.e. it gave people the most fun.
Journalists really over-exaggerate how badly many 3D games have aged while letting 2D games completely off the hook because they grew up in that era or get influenced by group think from older gamers running these websites. Just like 2D ...
There's nothing wrong with the actual quality of that animation.

1:57 Wingsuits should be a lot of fun.
It sounds like Solid Snake dying at 1:28. haha

*Mercury Steam
The "Game Info" section on this website even lists Mercury Steam as the primary developer but the article just gives Nintendo all the credit. Give Mercury Steam their due.
"If we look at Steam achievements, where the game has been out the longest, only 3.5% finish the JojaMart route, while 18.8% of players finish the Community Center. Quite telling, since the Community Center is actually harder to complete."
The farmers have spoken. Feck the Joja Corporation, and long live the Community Center.
The lack of a native app and ray-tracing on PS5 and Series X is pretty lame.
@isarai
The double tap is sorely missed.
??? My main point is that the formula was beginning to get stale.
You could leave a similar reply for someone praising Sucker Punch for putting in the time to make something new with Ghost Of Tsushima even though it meant that we didn't get any new games for 6 years.
It's not like I'm happy that we didn't get Sucker Punch or Rocksteady games for that long but new stuff takes time and it's worth it.
I'm still a ...
Looks great, tbh.
The Arkham formula got stale by the end (4 games in 6 years was a lot) so I'm glad we're finally getting something new that's still in Rocksteady's universe. Arkham Asylum came out in 2009.
It's a bit messed up that the PS2 and Xbox originals were removed. I want to try out these remasters, but the originals should still be preserved and available for those who want them. They were some of the most important games ever made.
If they were afraid that people would accidentally buy the wrong version, idk, perhaps they should have just removed the option to buy the originals but added them to your library if you buy the Definitive Edition.
