Even though Sony make obviously make quality games, you're still rewarded with a better game if you wait.
I didn't play Spider-Man: Miles Morales at launch and in the meantime they added a RT Performance mode, then increased the ray-tracing's internal resolution. It looked and played better. They also added realistic muscle deformation.
Returnal just added the ability to suspend a cycle which is a big deal.

I have no interest in buying Vanguard, but BF 2042 doesn't even have a campaign. lol
Edge have always been harsh. But that means a good score from them actually means something. If you aren't bringing innovation or quality, you won't get a good review.

81% of their scores are lower than the average critic.
Nothing can beat FIFA in the Europe.
It says a lot about the rapid evolution of these games that GTA: San Andreas (2004) is over 4 times bigger than GTA III (2001).
What I really want to know ... is whether Tommy can swim now. There's a beach right outside the man's apartment.
First game I ever owned. My parents weren't sure I really like gaming so they got me a second hand PS1 and I picked this game. It made me love and see what games could be.
It wasn't until the PS2 that I felt I was playing games in the same league as it.
If that were true, Bluepoint wouldn't have used 2 to improve the controls and shooting in 3 in the Nathan Drake Collection.
"We've done a significant amount of work, unifying the games and improving aspects of control and aiming. We worked on bringing U1 and U3 closer to U2, but we incorporated some global improvements such as reducing the dead zones, and making analogue aiming more responsive and precise across all three games." 1654d ago 1 agree5 disagreeView comment
Modern Warfare 2 has some chance of getting me back into COD, but I have no interest in Vanguard at all.
It is very good, but when I originally played Uncharted 3 it was the most disappointed I'd ever been in a video-game because Uncharted 2 was just that good. I enjoyed 3 much more when I replayed it in the Nathan Drake Collection though. I could just enjoy it for what it is and accept that it's not Uncharted 2 - it's not a roller coaster, and it doesn't balance and rotate between action, puzzles, platforming and set-pieces in the same way.
Uncharted 3's g...
The controls at launch for Uncharted 3 were ruined by input lag. I remember trying to line up headshots in a stealth sequence in the London Underground section, and wondering if something was wrong with my controller.
They eventually improved it on PS3, and it plays perfectly in the Nathan Drake Collection. Bluepoint standardized the shooting in Uncharted 1 and 3 to feel more like Uncharted 2. There's no better proof that 2 is best of the trilogy than Bluepoint using it...
If both PlayStation and Xbox games launch day and date on PC, I would have to consider switching to PC despite some annoying quirks (games spread across different storefronts, most store UIs not designed for controllers, not all games will have Dualsense features, etc).
***Sony would lose the 30% cut they get on every PS5 game I purchase, and lose a lot of money from similar customers***. There's a lot of people from other platforms who gave in and got a PS4 to play Spi...
I don't think it's because VRR is being used as a crutch, tbh, since barely anyone has a TV with VRR right now.
I believe the Xbox versions are badly optimised because:
1. the Series S requires way too much work and time, and their attention on Xbox is divided between 2 versions.
2. the PS5 is much easier to develop for which is particularly helpful for a smaller studio.
Jesus.
PS Plus was on a roll for a long while (around a year for me) but the games for August and October were particularly bad, making this month look worse than it actually is.
Knockout City and Kingdoms of Amalur are good games but 2 multiplayer focused games is too much - First Class Trouble seems like a poor choice.
I'm hoping for something a bit bigger like Mafia Definitive Edition and/or The Pathless for December because we were getting bangers like t...
This is something that happened around 20 years ago. lol. This isn't about Metroid Prime 4.
@1Victor
Everybody would use a save option if it was available. It would fundamentally change the game and make many of the mechanics redundant or at least easy to ignore. The game assumes that you're going to die (it's part of the design), so you'd miss out on lots of story content and the progression would get messed up. Players could get a bad "roll" and not realize that they need to die for things to play differently. The effort that the developers...
Completely agree. I play almost nothing at launch anymore and usually wait at least a month, but I'm always weary of spoilers though.
I didn't play Miles Morales when it launched and by the time I played it, they'd added RT performance, and then they optimized the code and made the internal resolution for ray tracing the same as the overall resolution (4 time higher, I think) after R&C came out. I feel like I got a much better experience than those who playe...
Yeah, that's the one new clip that we haven't seen before. https://gfycat.com/commonme...
Looks damn fun.
Pleasantly surprised by these scores. Looks solid.
