The 2012 SSX is definitely not one of the greatest video-game sequels of all time.

That would be awesome and a lot more interesting to me than a Demon Souls remaster (no offense but it's pretty easy to get your souls fix these days - I mean there's a Dark Souls remaster coming too) which is the most common guess.

The only thing is that all of the Resistance games actually feel quite different to one another. Very roughly speaking, 1 controls more like classic Halo (e.g. button layout), 2 saw some modernization and 3 pretty much has the exact same ...

I love Sucker Punch but I personally think Insomniac are better suited to making Spider-Man. They make fun games that just feel really good (slick, arcadey) which works out pretty good for the web-slinging. Their games have addictive gameplay loops as well (R&C raritanium, upgrading weapons, gadgets, etc). There's a lot of focus on humour as well and keeping things colourful. I actually can't think of a studio better suited to making a Spider-Man game.

You try too hard.

It's a big open-world game. Very few are 60FPS on consoles.

There is talk that it's actually far better than Spider-Man 2's web slinging. To me personally, that's insane. It seems like Insomniac went above and beyond with making sure the web slinging is perfect.

Can't wait for this. There's not enough arcade racing games and especially not enough arcade racing games that look as mental as this.

It doesn't really harm anyone if they add it, tbh. The only potential danger is people getting bored of the battle royale mode in general.

At times, Far Cry 2 was pure suffering. The map was like Metal Gear Solid 5's - it funnels you down certain paths and isn't as open as most open-world games (lots of hills blocking your way all the time). Far Cry 2 had little to no wild life (besides a few zebras) and felt completely empty. That can't be ignored in these comparisons.

Hmm. Hopefully it's released before E3 if we're going to get a blowout like this. I really want to see if they've nailed the swinging (it looks good so far but I need to try it out and see what you can do with it). They've made the movement a lot faster since last E3 while still keeping it momentum based which I really like.

There's a lot of people complaining about this (not sure if these are all genuine fans but there's a lot of people stating opinions about this all the same). I can understand the genuine fans' feelings to an extent but many of these cynical people are the same people that whine about a lack of creativity in the Triple-A space. Sometimes developers need to value their own vision more than some loud fans' desires. And it's worked. Most GOW fans are really excited for this ga...

Definitely. The Witness is one of the best games this generation and Syndicate is a lot of fun. Both GWG and PS Plus are actually great this month. It's nice to see that both services are consistently offering great games that people really would like to play now because they've both had some rough periods.

The THQ UFC games were so much more fun.

Sure, but classic Tomb Raider had its own distinct identity and Uncharted has its own distinct identity. They had their inspirations but they were ultimately their own thing. These new Tomb Raider games are fun but they're definitely more derivative.

To be fair, Rise has tons of optional tombs and added more tombs into the main missions as well. There was generally a much bigger emphasis on climbing and puzzles. Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'd agree with you if you were just talking about the 2013 reboot though.

It has some fun survival mechanics as well without overdoing it. That said, it doesn't really capture the fun of Uncharted set pieces/action and the combat and controls are definitely a step down...

I imagine that the main problem would be the sheer amount of updates that a game like Warframe like has and the storage issues that can come about because of that.

@TFJWM I think he means that there won't be any setback in visuals compared to the standard PS4 in order to get 60FPS.

Best destruction ever seen in a video-game. Shame that the sequel was such a departure from this game.

This is so true. Context is important. Given a reason for what you're doing, our actions in a game carry more weight and meaning and you feel like you have more of a purpose. I think this is something that a lot of people who scream "I play games, not movies!" don't really get (although storytelling can be told in ways other than cutscenes).

2 to 3 hours in Horizon would not have transitioned into the full open world yet (more like a large hub area with more limited quests and linear missions). That happens around the 5 hour mark.
