Yeah, this is pretty bad Septic. Why not answer the question, since, you know, the topic doesn't have anything to do with Sony?
YES!
@Killbill: Looks like , besides Deep-throat, you totally missed the point. And, beyond that, he said NOTHING about one platform.
Deep-throat: Errr...because multiplatform games have more people to sell to, obviously.
@ G-haul: A game like Uncharted 4 no longer needs advertisements like that. It also sold to more people than Rainbow Six Seige did (this matters, when talking about impact), so your point doesn't really work in that case.
Of course they matter. Exclusives will always matter. The industry was built on them, of course. I believe these little spin-offs have been very good to Sony this gen (First Light being the first major one)!
Hats off!
The PC and PS4 Pro are true 4K devices, as well. There isn't any such thing as "more of a true 4K device". Any device capable of it can provide the "true 4K" experience.
Well, in fairness, I wouldn't expect him to call the Pro a better console even if it was the most powerful of the two. Each company will champion their device.
That said, so far, the Pro and X1X are looking like solid upgrades to existing consoles. I don't necessarily hope that every gen going forward receives iterative consoles, but if it pays off this gen, good for both sides!
What is he trying? What he said was very logical. Microsoft needs to entice outside of their XB1 fanbase. A few anecdotal PlayStation people "that you've seen" isn't going to cut it.
I'm in the same boat. I own a One S and preordered an X1X, but, I'm not what they should be after. Rather, sole PlayStation/Nintendo fans that need a reason to "Jump In".
Considering Microsoft has only ever had one machine more powerful than a Sony machine (Xbox -> PS2), I don't get this statement.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is actually not the best example, because some of those new graphical features aren't even present in the PC version. Consider it closer to the first game, where the Definitive Edition (PS4/X1) came with new graphical updates that never made it to the PC either.
That said, I hope most 3rd party devs take advantage of the additional power (particularly that RAM). Not just for higher res, either. But added graphical stuff like SSAO/AA/AF. Skip the ...
Not sure why you're getting disagrees for that. It is factual. If anything, it is BECAUSE of the X1X's additional GPU power that we see this disparity.
@ Xsta1ker: I don't have to be reminded of the X1X's advantages over other consoles. The discussion is regarding bottlenecks. There will be plenty of them, just as there are in any other device that runs these things. That's the point. Doesn't matter how much "better" the X1X will be.
As it should, but there can still be bottlenecks, despite the up-ticked performance.
I'm not seeing what was so wrong with answering the question of the article. Try to lighten up a bit.
OT: Although I'll play most of my multiplats on the PC, I preordered the SC X1X! I don't chase brands, rather, power and experiences. If the Xbox One X gives me a better experience than my online play on the Xbox One S, then the door was opened for the upgrade!
Feb 2019 for the reveal, not the launch. Beyond that, although you nor I know when "the demand will be greatest", historically, Sony releases a new console every 6-7 years. So the time is appropriate.
Then here's my question - obviously, no one was able to sway your vote to preorder (I know the feeling, I preordered it too). However, before the thing even releases, you're asking people why they'd buy it even after YOU did? Just sounds like needless backpedaling to spark an, all too common, "gamer war".
Feb 2019. No earlier.
There aren't many native 4K games on it, yet. However, by the time all is said and done, before the rest of the 9th generation machines release alongside the Switch, the One X will have the most native 4K titles on consoles.
Well then maybe you can help us understand Sony's reluctance...
Why have they refused it? Does it make sense? Does it hurt the industry? Help it? Perhaps you can answer some of those questions, if all you're seeing are defensive "Sony gamers".
