Sorry, but with the economy and the price of standalone Blu-ray players dropping virtually daily, there is no way Sony will do that.
Besides, there are a ton of titles that have released that are in the $10-$15 range.

You rent movies through your cable or satellite provider. They will let you rent all the movies you want with NO caps because they charge you for every viewing.
I guaranty everyone that owns a PS3 appreciates it.

Most people use the VOD service through there cable/sat provider.
This totally negates the whole download cap issue since there is no cap for cable or satellite.
Every time someone uses VOD, it means they may or may not buy the Blu-ay/DVD hard copy. I know I have watched dozens of movies on VOD that I was on the fence whether to buy or not. Most of the time it was no.
