Not everyone has or wants an HDTV, online gaming or web surfing from their gaming console.
All the "choices" you give only pertain to the PS3. So if someone wants all of those, buy the PS3.
The Wii can do virtually none of those and it is KILLING the competition. So I guess all the choices you give are not what a majority of the public wants.
At least the 360 offers a Wii-like console option with no HD cables and limited online capabili...

If you want to shell out $25-$39(Blu-ray) for every movie you watch, go for it.
This service is geared toward the average consumer, not the "uber-HD" concerned gamer like you and me. It is still appealing, to some, to have the option of watching a movie from your living room right now.
Look, how many times have you or anyone else been to the rental store and the movie you want to watch it all out? Especially if it a title that you were really interested...
Just because some CEO "predicts" Blu-ray will take over DVD in less than 2 years, doesn't mean it is going to happen.
Remember, Iron Man is the best selling Blu-ray so far with 500,000 in one week. However, it also sold 7.2 million on DVD the same week. That is only 14%. It is better, but that was one title released to the demographic that owns the most Blu-ray players(PS3 owners that are guys 16-30).

MS had a vested interest in HD-DVD surviving because it used HDI (developed by MS) for the interactive features on HD-DVDs.
Secondly, from what I have read in the past, MS was considering delaying the 360 to have HD-DVD drives internally installed.
Whenever the 360 actually outsells the PS3 for one month in Japan, it IS news!:)

There is no denying the failure rate of the launch 360 motherboard was high, but to my knowledge no one has ever proven, DEFINITIVELY, what the actual rate is.
The only thing that I can say from my point of view is that the 360 is getting better and that the Jasper board may offer the best bet for someone who wants to get a new 360.
I bought into HD-DVD(only after I found a player for $79 firesale). Now it looks like less than one year later I can finally get a Blu-ray player.
Too bad this will only make the PS3 look less attractive price wise.
