If I remember the 360 just had a price drop about the time this new Jasper board should have been starting up production.
Looks like your dream may have come true.:)
DVD is being "phased out"..... when it has 90% market share?
Blu-ray is a better format, but don't lie to yourself and think that studios will get rid of DVD anytime soon. The main reason is because of the fact that you already stated.....all Blu-ray players also play DVD.
The cost alone of running these lines must be a fraction of what it would be here due to this fact:

But, I would have to get a second(or third) job to afford the monthly charges from Comcast!:)
but more people actually have to own a 1080p tv before they will buy into Blu.
read the link: http://blogs.zdnet.com/home...
quote: "the CEA predicts that 64% of sets in 2012 will be 1080p"
Don't get me wrong, I want a Blu-ray player and all of it's 1080p glory, but unfortunately the economy and the attitude of "dvd looks good enough" may keep Blu-ray just a...
Good find!
Even if they could "slim" the 360, how could they slim the HDD?
MS would have to completely redesign the HDD so it could be as slim.
The only major upgrade that I see happening is using the new Jasper board to reduce the power consumption and then integrate the power brick into one box.
Bubbles for you!!
Someone who actually took the time to apologize. I wish the ability to admit mistakes would become more commonplace here on N4G.
That some people can be so immature to "disagree" that this is a good thing for consumers.
Who gives a crap that you may or may not like the 360, it still benefits the consumer.
But when will the price come down 300%?
Movies that are being upscaled or shown in anything over 480p, have HDCP which prevents the high-resolution image from being copied.
Component cables are analog while VGA and HDMI are digital only, giving the ability to encrypt the info being transmitted.
As long as you had VGA cables and an HDTV that had a VGA input.
This is old news.
google is your friend.

"the PS3 has been able to upscale from day one." Wrong.
The 360 has been able to do this since the fall update of 2006.
Thank god we, or the Iraqi or Afghan people, don't have to depend on YOU for protection.
It is people like US Army Specialist Kyle Norris who volunteer to put themselves in harms way ( wherever that is), while people like you run away to save only yourself like a coward.
With those words you just spat on every soldier that has served overseas in our countries past and present that has died to protect the freedom for you to make your elitist, self-centered comments.
That man had more honor in serving than you will ever understand.
Gosh, would this fit in a 360 case?
With xp, my old computer crashed and locked up all the time. It has been about a year now with Vista, and not one crash!
Luckily I don't play games on my computer, so I may also not have seen some of the problems others have talked about.
Not completely. Some people have their 360 upconverting SD-DVDs and the only option on the older(non-HDMI) models is to use a VGA cable which virtually no new HDTV has anymore.
If I upgraded to a TV that only has HDMI inputs, then this would be a great option.
at the current rate the PS3 is selling over the 360, it will only take 159 weeks (or three years) to surpass the hardware totals
for alot of people this will be a benefit.
1. They already have internet
2. They have a Netflix account
3. They have Live
Most people don't have their PC hooked up to their tv, but they sure do have their 360. So now you can take advantage of the Netflix online movies that have unlimited downloads (the $9 plan).
