I simply don't understand how an organisation which claims to be plugged into the videogame industry reaches a decision where PS5 isn't even nominated? Leaving all the silliness aside, surely they would realise it would completely undermine any reputation they might have with the gaming community?
I am a PlayStation fan but I immediately recognise that the 2 biggest events of 2020, in the whole of the entertainment industry, will be the launch of the two new consol...
If you set aside you bias for a MO, do you honestly believe that PS5 didn't warrant a nomination?
Uses the phrases "full backwards compatibility" and "a handful of original Xbox games" in the same sentence 😂
Already got the play, I couldnt help myself but i have decided to wait for PS5 to get the grounded and permadeath trophies. Needless to say, I cannot wait!
Well, I am sure there will be sensible discussions in this comments section 🙄
Whoever wrote this review has no appreciation of how the audience for this product thinks.
The genuine flight sim audience do care about realism, its why we spend thousands on add-ons and peripherals and MS know this and its why they are using these exploitative practices. All the noise from people who know nothing at all about the flight sim scene who are just passing through because they like pretty graphics haven't got a clue.
Very kind of you to say so chief, I think discussing favourite games is probably more fun to be fair 😂
If we assume that all current gen games will work on the next generation then there is no barrier to you playing the game you bought on your new console.
If a developer decides to pour thousands of hours into patching in major improvements to a game and paying for certification and all the rest, then I don't see why I should expect to get access to that for nothing. There is more of a debate where a game releases near the launch of PS5 and Xbox where devs are still wor...
It really is high time EA lost their exclusivity deals with the NFL and FIFA organisations, they are simply relying on their licences to sell really average products. Imagine what a little competition would do for the sports game genre.
I guess it depends on your interpretation of 'defining a generation'. If we are talking about titles which influenced trends, then the list of games is quite depressing really, in my opinion, as there have been some horrid trends over the last 5 years or so.
I think PubG gets a spot without question, it literally brought the Battle Royal genre to the mainstream and birthed dozens of variations on a theme. Without PubG there is no Fortnight, Apex Legends or Warzone...
Actually, Resi 7 is a very interesting choice. Definately revived a tired franchise and also made 1st person horror more mainstream than the likes of Outlast ever did.
It's great that it's doing well now, but I am not really a multiplayer guy. The thing that I always really admired about this game was the sea effects, the waves just look so beautiful.
I think it is only fair to point out that these impressive numbers don't necessarily tell the whole story personally. There was barely a game here for a long time and whilst it offers a much better package now, I think we should still be resistant to games launching in a half b...
Ha, Ratchetta......I like it 😄
I don't have strong feelings on the subject personally, I guess it gives people the option if they want a digital only system. Personally, I am all about my physical games collection so it's a no brainer for me.
I would say, Sony's approach does make much more sense to me than Xbox. I can appreciate the rationale behind a digital only console compared to a the concept of a shitter version of the same console.
Agreed, even the sales prices are eye watering in comparison to the prices of a physical copy.
I dunno what to tell you squire, if you don't want better games, if you don't feel a console provider owes you a good product after you spend hundreds of pounds on their console, then MS will never improve because they won't have to whilst you let them off the hook constantly.
I am not suggesting that some Sony developments haven't had bumpy roads but I think it is important to view the issues around the likes of DriveClub and The Last Guardian in the context of Sony overall handling of their studios over the last 20 years.
Sony have made decisions I fundamentally disagree with such as the shuttering of Evolution Studios who brought us the fantastic Motorstorm series and DriveClub which eventually went on to be very successful with fans. I a...
People can spin it all they want, but whilst there is no question delaying Halo was the right decision, it must be acknowledged that it was also the only decision they could make. MS cannot see their flagship franchise launch to mediocre reception, the decision should be viewed through the lense of Microsoft's shambolic management of their games studios over the last 10+ years.
There is no spinning this as some brave decision by MS, genuine fans ought to be asking some...
Critics also leave out the fact that Sony were losing more than 200 dollars per PS3, it really did offer great value at the time; personally, I loved getting a Bluray player, the leap in visual quality at the time was jaw dropping. By the time you bought 12 months of Gold, a wireless adapter and a hi def movie player for the 360 you had spent more than 600 bucks anyway.
Of course, I am not saying 600 dollars is a good idea, I am sure it did stifle the PS3 sales to a degree...
@Mr Pumblechook
Sounds like a rational position dude. Sorry to hear you have been hit by all the problems 2020 has brought, hope you come through the other side quickly.
