You only need to defend the concept of exclusives from blinkered Xbox fans and 'journalists' who do Xbox's bidding, everyone else understands quite readily why exclusives are relavent and also, why they are loved and appreciated by their audiences.
@Voicemale
All reasonable statements however, the reality is Xbox is no better a platform for online shooters than PSN. This was a narrative pushed throughout the last generation and it may have had a kernel of truth to it back then, but the reality is, shooters on PSN play just as well as XBL and have done for years.
Apart from the fact that the aren't booming. They are no doubt the leaders in respect of market share and have benifited greatly from the pandemic lockdown in respect of subscribers.
Yet they still aren't profitable and have had to invest billions to keep people on board, MS by comparison have no interest in investing that kind of money into quality first party content.
Never liked early access as a concept, why the hell anyone wants to play incomplete games is mind boggling to me.
As far as I am concerned, devs cant have their cake and eat it, if they decide to put something out and charge for it then it is up for discussion/review just like any other title. I am sick of developers and publishers putting half baked bullshit out, as soon as I see the words 'roadmap' I immediately lose interest.
I am really surprised by this considering how fantastic it looks and how complex some of the simulation will be, leaves lots of space on my hard drive for the inevitable add ons I'll be buying.
Agreed, the first game was decent but hardly set the gaming world alight and I can't help but feel that it is the exclusive status that has Xbox fans on N4G excited rather than excitement at playing a game based off a fairly average first game.
I find the Hellblade hype quite interesting.
I personally felt Hellblade had some interesting ideas but was otherwise a fairly average game, particularly in respect of its gameplay which I found very repetitive. It did had very good production values which I think helped pull me through to achieve the platinum trophy.
While I am somewhat interested in a sequel, I cant honestly say I wanted one, I do feel the original told the story it needed to tell. I ...
Microsoft are the absolute last company to be moaning about monopolies, they have been in the shit with more antitrust legal wranglings than any of these other companies.
They are all as bad as each other, but MS crying foul is frankly absurd and pathetically desperate. They know they ain't making their services profitable anytime soon if they cant get their hooks into every market place.
Actually, I dont use Spotify, I have used Netflix in the past.
But what I find interesting here that you should note, is the amount of programme and movie makers who have realised it is better for them to keep their content to use on their own services.
It is also worth noting that Netflix, even with all their domination of the streaming market still isnt profitable, this should sound alarm bells, even Disney conceded they dont expect a profit for years f...
No problem Inferno, for what its worth, I genuinely hope the game is great, I was perhaps clumsy in expressing that I am unfamiliar with The Suicide Squad and so am not as excited as I may have been for other super heroes.
Have a fab weekend squire 👍👍
All these dirt bag companies wanting to capitalise on the hard work of games developers makes me want to pull my hair out. The shortsighted may bang on about how good Gamepass is for consumers, but the devaluing of games is only going to end up hurting developers.
Here is a novel idea, if you like a game, support the developer and give them all your money instead of letting these vultures claim their cut.
Apologies, movie🙄
I am not a comic book guy so don't now how good or bad Suicide Squad was in the comics, but I thought they were shit in the movies, currently luke warm on this announcement to be honest.
I am just watching the Digital Foundry review, pretty surprising and disappointing to hear that PC gamers may have to make some concessions to get it running optimally. Still, it is a great game and still worth playing even if it isn't as huge a leap as hoped, I mean, it was flipping beautiful on my PS4 Pro so anything better than this is still a bonus anyway.
I may have read your article, but decided your title was pure clickbait trash and let that inform my expectation that the article was so poor that you needed to employ cheap tricks to get anyone interested.
How can anyone be surprised by a 3 year old game played on 7 year old hardware being 'outperformed' by an updated game being played on the latest PC.
Whoever wrote this dogs dinner of a title should learn to focus on the positives and would hav...
One of the few Nintendo first party games I missed on my WiiU so I'll be glad to pick this up on my Switch.
I am pleased to see a bunch of my collection in this list, pleasantly surprised to see how much games like Afrika are selling for. Shame I am too attached to my collection to sell stuff, I could make a killing 😁
Yup, I am looking at my copy on the shelf right now...i feel very lucky, i adore this game. (In the UK too, btw).
Puppeteer deserves some love in this conversation.
I guess this speaks to just how big an impact programming and developing for a closed system has and just how complex developing for a platform with infinite configurations can prove, especially for a team who are not used to developing for PC.
It is a shame for PC gamers but I also feel bad for Guerrilla as they are super talented and Horizon is a fantastic game, perhaps they bit off more than they can chew trying to make a PC port whilst in the throws of developing a seq...
