Christ, Sea of Thieves is as dumbed down as you can get.....a handful of mission types, no upgrading your gear or ship, no progression.
Anything new coming to Xbox (outside of the usual 3 exclusives) is as a result of 3rd party support, it has nothing to do with MS having 'more to offer'.

He is inevitably going to swing around New York, this time however, the swinging mechanics are physics based, you have to dive towards the ground to build momentum if you want to swing quickly. Prior games have just had canned animations where you swing at a standard pace.

The moment this happens they reduce their prospective audience by a huge percentage. In the US, internet providers are exploring bandwidth restrictions more and more rather than making it more affordable. Here in the UK broadband is still relatively limited and this is the case for most of western Europe.
Internet infrastructure simply isn't good enough for any console manufacturer to consider going to a streaming only service....and thank God in my opinion.

I had an awesome time overall with Sunset Overdrive but I have to admit that it did outstay it's welcome a little because they littered the map with collectibles and relied on using the same 5 or 6 side missions repeatedly.
It is a really difficult balance to strike...

Thanks for all the responses guys, I know they are not connected but I bought Chronicles X a couple of years ago and it's been sat on the backlog ever since. I am determined to play it because it looked awesome back when it released.

Fabulous art style to this game, I really hope to be able to fit a play through of this in but I have such a massive backlog. I am looking at starting Xenoblade Chronicles X on my WiiU so I can then play the sequel on my Switch, I would like to play these before adding the beautiful looking Octopath to my backlog.
You really ought to be expecting more as an Xbox fan squire. Those games you mention are tired mate, I want new games, if they had a raft of other brand new games being supplemented by Gears, Halo and Forza I might agree with you but all MS have done for the last 8-10 years or more is rely on those franchises.
