but definitely improved from the previous builds. I did notice a quick moment of pop-in near the beginning though (when the camera's faced to the side of the track), but I'm probably just nitpicking.
Don't say such things, lol. -sigh- ....I wouldn't be surprised either, now that I think about it. =[
the lighting looks good. It's fun watching newbies sometimes. I can see why people are calling it Halo 2.5 though (had to wait for this HD footage to make that call).
Kojima wants to get this game released as soon as possible, and December 2007 is the perfect release date. Once he gets this out of the way he can concentrate on the new ZOE title.
I am a bit confused as to why you're calling me a Sony Fanatic, especially since I own both a PS2 and an Xbox. Would you care to explain yourself, Ace?
The animation and visual quality of that video was awesome; it's obvious why Michael Bay purchased that company.
Those 8's and 9's were just horrible scores!
First I heard "You shouldn't go hard on it for graphics. It's simply an alpha version." And then it was "Of course Halo 3 doesn't look good, it barely hit Beta status." And the most widespread case of denial I've seen is "Forget about the perfect scores that Halo 1 and 2 received in the Graphics Category. The series is about gameplay, not graphics."
I think a lot of people are finding it hard to believe that the Xbox 360 just isn't that powerful, ...
Gears had the benefit of being a linear corridor shooter, while games like Halo need large maps set out. That requires a huge draw distance, as well as a greater amount of processing.
aren't you.
If you ever took AP Statistics (or a stats class in college) you'd know that a small percentage of total results are actually quite representative of the whole, with very little error involved. Even polls done with only a few thousand people can be representative of a million (give or take 1~3%).
I do find it humorous though that you think your local Walmart store is more representative of the HD Movie market than Amazon.com.
people are bagging on Thwip for complaining about Halo 3's graphics. The Halo series is known for having amazing graphics (Halo 2 got damn near perfect scores in that department) and its important to remember that graphics do affect gameplay. When I shoot a rocket at an object/environment, I expect that object/environment to react accordingly, especially with the 'power of next-gen' and whatnot.
Based on Bungie's awesome track record, I'd have to state that they're pushing the ...
KewlKat obviously has an agenda of constantly claiming that the PS3 is inferior to the 360 (and even goes so far to attack individuals that state PS3 games look great). Yes, the 360's OS is smaller than the PS3's OS, but there's a good reason for that. The PS3 is capable of many more functions such as remote play, web browsing (and the necessary plugins), two generations of software emulation, handling both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi at the same time (Sony had to create a patent for this unique issu...
So here's the truth about RSX. It's heavily skewed towards Pixel Shading, but it's also no slouch in Vertex functions. In fact, it has the largest amount of Vertex and Lighting/Transformation cache of any GPU on the market (except the 8800, which it equals in that respect), and exactly twice as much as Xenos has. If you're wondering why PS3 titles have significantly higher polygon counts than PC and Xbox 360 titles, this is the main reason why.
Unfortunately, pushing the Vertex...
I wouldn't be too worried, as there are plenty of Blu-ray titles to go around. Fox is only one company.
Launch titles use PPU heavily and RSX with standard GDDR3 usage. Minimal SPU usage.
2nd-gen titles use SPUs a lot more, and begin to take advantage of FlexI/O to expand RSX's memory reach. PPU is still the 'main processor' though.
3rd-gen to 4th-gen titles we'll start to see skilled devs almost ignoring the PPU, with SPUs being used for both RSX assistance on the graphics side, heavy streaming off the BD drive, and a constant movement of data over the FlexI/O Mem...
once they put out high-quality games.
might mean less consoles breaking down, but it could also just mean that customers are contacting Microsoft first when problems occur rather than their local retail (who have stringent return policies).
Damn, that was unexpected.
in that the CPU doesn't have to process AI for a dozen or so enemies; their data is all fed through player input. Resistance, Halo 2, Halo 1, Burnout 3, and all other games I've played online look/perform identically in Single-player and Multiplayer. They have to, otherwise the devs would get spanked during reviews.
I think a lot of people are simply compensating their true feelings about Halo 3 with the idea that multiplayer is somehow supposed to perform and look worse compar...
