for the PS2 version, so this sounds very plausible. Considering there are over 15,000 players and 32 stadiums that they wish to put in (in addition to the countless hours of custom commentary) and it's easy to see why the 360 version was so lacking in features and content.

Microsoft has a cap on how much space devs can use on 360 DVDs, which is 7.9 GB. The other 600MB are blocked off due to security purposes.

Wait and see? Konami isn't afraid to expose differences in platform capabilities, so it would make sense. 10GB for rendered models alone sounds plausible though for the PS3 version (includes everything from players to stadiums). If this turns out to be true then there are going to be a lot of gameplay/feature differences as well between the 360 and PS3 versions.

but I think they're referring to Liberation's downloadable campaign (i.e. Chapter 5).

Maybe I just notice DVD compression quicker than most people, but I want to see all that crazy action in HD.

Games should be knocked down for having bad online play, not for lacking it in the first place. A lot of titles just wouldn't work as multiplayer experiences: Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, or Resident Evil 4 for example.

Can't wait for the "B-but 360 has a better GPU!" comments. Oh yeah, here's a direct comparison picture of the two versions:

is the size of the entire world of Oblivion. This might end up being the first title to utilize 50GB Blu-ray discs.

DX 9c is not equally capable, or (as he likes to state) more capable than DX 10. If it was, DX10 would be worthless. We all know that the Xenos GPU was finished far before DX 10 was finalized; had they been given an extra 6 or 7 months then they could've had DX 10 on the 360.

PS3 on the other hand relies on OpenGL and CG (well documented, very efficient, very powerful), so developers on that platform have a lot of benefits.

Blu-ray movies actually don't tax PS3 hardware very much. Apparently Cell alone can decode 12 HD videos at the same time, which is pretty crazy. Xenos, in isolation, is slightly more capable than RSX due to the high efficiency of Unified Pipelines. However, once placed in their respective environments, RSX actually performs better. Cell is partially to thank for that (pre-culling, progressive mesh, and other vertex functions run faster on Cell), as are the FlexI/O and dedicated memory archite...

We can add this to the list of multiplatform titles that not only have more content, but look better simply because of a console's storage capacity. That's pretty sweet if you ask me. =]

I was pretty sure something was wrong with the architecture, but something like that seems even more critical than I thought. Microsoft might have to go the 'slim-line' route to even start considering altering the motherboard design. It'll cost a lot of money, though not as much as dealing with a 10~12% failure rate. It's no wonder they charge so much for hardware replacement.

Heat generation is obviously a big issue, and it's something Sony doesn't have to worry about since Ce...

of all Xbox 360 consoles, which is well above the "3~5%" that Peter Moore originally assured us with. He's singing a much different tune now. I feel sorry for the chap; he can't even answer these questions in a straightforward manner. =/ That's a pretty bad sign.

Ring-of-Death is the most common occurrence now since Microsoft was able to fix the Drive Grind issue fairly quickly (cost like a dollar more per drive). Fixing the system architecture to prevent Firmware C...

except for the faster pace (which is good). The 3rd-person segments immediately made me think of Gears though, albeit less buff.

My PS1 still works, and I got that sucker in 1997.

I've had my Xbox for quite some time now, but I'm not confident enough to purchase a 360. Lack of compelling titles + Risk of bricking hasn't done much to boost my confidence (though I really want to run Halo 2 in hi-res) You can catch me on Xbox Connect, Halo 2. My username is DJ_John. I'm also on Killzone once in a while with the same username.

I'm still saving up for my PS3 (I was close, but had to invest in CD copyrights and publishing).

this behavior is actually a direct result of Microsoft creating the Achievements system in the first place, and now they're punishing the behavior that they are responsible for instigating. In reality, gamerpoints mean nothing, but try telling that to the people spending dozens of hours a week trying to gain higher stats on XBL.

and I think the video just skipped a frame or two. It's not pop-in (I take that back). I still think Project Gotham has better lighting though; for some reason Forza just comes off as unnatural.

Microsoft's overreacting a bit too much over save-sharing. Good thing Nintendo and Sony don't intrude into our privacy like this.

You'd think MS, the mightiest of all software companies, could at least get these patches down. "i am dealing with the same issue now! i've called cust service and they want me to pay 140$ to have it repaired i've spent hours on the phone. this is obviously a microsoft issue and it should be fixed for free."

Then again, it's convenient that a lot of people have to spend $140 to fix their consoles after this update. All that cash flowing in will definitely boost Micros...
