“I can't comment on failure rates, because it’s just not something - it’s a moving target. What this consumer should worry about is the way that we've treated him. Y’know, things break...it's a complex business."
"Nobody is concerned anymore about backwards compatibility. We under promised and over delivered on that. It’s a very complicated thing... very complex work."
Moore's like the Donald Rumsfeld of gaming execs. And no, I haven't forgotten Ku...
I wouldn't expect them to let gamers know it's on PS3 as well.
so I'm not surprised with that comment. Can't wait to try it out. Epic likes to run their own servers, so I'm wondering if they're going to have different online features for PS3 and 360.
Either way, I'm an XB Connect user. Get to use my internet connection for free instead of paying Microsoft to do so, and I get to decide which people play in my games. Pretty sweet.
It is true though that a lot of the content on Xbox Live is overpriced. I remember there being a lot of controversy over Lumines and the fact that it cost $37 to finish (multiple download tiers). Horse Armor also brings back memories. It's a good thing that Sony has been very good about pricing for ...
Play those with a few shots of tequila and you'll get some hilarious moments. "I got snipeted me! Asshole!" (yes, Mase really said that)
that are catching general consumers' attention on the 360. I know Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Too Human are supposed to be epic, but Halo's been stealing all the press. I guess it's the same effect we saw with Lost Planet and Gears of War. High sales, but mainly due to the fact there's not much else to buy? Besides, Halo 2 has the best FPS multiplayer action to date (I should know, I'm playing right now).
you hate Okami after that little statement. That's like saying "There's too much art direction!"
SONY is LOOSING MARKET-SHARE(Everytime a Casual gamer buys an XBOX360)
"Well, last time I checked, Microsoft loses market share every time a casual gamer buys a Wii. Sony is at a healthy 3.7 million, Wii is at an a great 7.1 million, and Xbox 360? It's still in the 9 million range. Looks like the competition is catching up fast."
-SONY HAS LOST SOME GOOD EXCLUSIVES(MS continues to sway third-parties)
"Microsoft has lost a lot of exclusives to the PS...
Can't wait to see the final volumetrics in Lair and Killzone. =] The animation in Warhawk was been remarkably improved as well.
It's like seeing a whole new game. I love this upscaling feature.
That's an insane difference...but my TV only has component. -sigh-
but they were fairly recent. Only released about 5 months ago. I know that the older Blu-ray movies were pressed on 25GB discs (MPEG-2), which wasn't enough. MPEG-2 was easier I guess since all films have their digital masters stored on MPEG-2, but the format requires a lot of space. As soon as they implemented 50GB discs and used H.264, the visual quality remarkably improved.
BTW, my Circuit City has a Blu-ray home theater set up near the film section, and it's damn impressiv...
Blu-ray sales say it all.
there's a lot of different solutions laid out with this new feature, so softness can be turned on and off, people can mess with contrast, etc.
expect to see even more fav. franchises showing up at E3 (Whoo! Getaway), including ones that have been MIA since last year. This is Sony's one chance to turn the tables on their competitors, and they're going to take full advantage.
Kinda funny how they're targeting Sony and not a single other Blu-ray Association member. This will probably get thrown out.
But unless Microsoft does a complete revision of the hardware (the Elite is identical to the Premium/Core model), expect the countless dead 360s to keep piling up. With so many journalists across both gaming and non-gaming sites showing proof that the failure rate for Xbox 360 is very high (most likely around 10~15% within the first year), it's no wonder that the console hasn't really taken off, despite some very high profile titles such as Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Viva Pinata, and Gears of ...
More negative outlooks. PS2 went through the exact same thing before it took off in Fall 2001. For all we know, they might not even need a price cut if the games are compelling enough...
Apparently that one (which will spring up during E3) will feature XMB usage in-game, as well as customized soundtracks and expanded PSP stuff. Kinda cool how the PS3 OS requirements keep getting smaller, and yet the features keep getting bigger.
You had 5 bubbles before you told them the truth?
