Having the 'fatty' myself I assume they use it in pics as it's a good looking console (dust and finger marks aside)!
Back on subject: Enhancements would be great but don't think they would ever quell the talk of a next gen console especially if the other big two release theirs!
This isn't to say I think we necessarily need a new console right now but given the populous at large are happy to buy updated tablets and smart phones year-on-...
Must say I do like the look of this game, 2 was pretty damn beautiful itself on PC especially and even on console!

And contrary to my belief that they wouldn’t fix the PSN download list error till today I'm happy to say that last night (prior to the update) I was finally able to download all my 3rd Feb stuff including TM Beta :D Yaaayy.. and double Yaaayy as I understand it's now been extended till the 13th!

Weird, I was looking at some drive stats the other day (for PS3) and whilst the momentus performed ok they suggested that if they took out the solid memory it would perform the same. A decent 7,500 drive should do (WD Scorpio black) even the cheap 5,400 drives performed well!

Sony's best 1st party Devs duplicate data round the disk for quicker reading (in compensation of BD read speed) and this should in theory also allow for better textures and less pop-in.. Rage may even be the reasoning behind this.

Hmmmm.. I kind of want to agree but console sales have never been what makes money in the gaming market but rather the software, in that respect Sony would have more to lose than Microsoft as they have more first party studios.
The above said I do see your point, and they could well look to do the reverse (of Microsoft) in the hope it will sell more consoles and thus attract more 'mass' market appeal and hence software sales, but suppose it how they weigh it up!
But shops like CeX are still selling used games (here in the UK at least) and in many cases cheaper than Game, though I'll admit gaming alone isn't their forte!
Not the best of comparisons being such low resolution images, now try showing those images (Raw) on a 60"+ 4k TV, now that would show the difference!
As things currently stand 'hardware wise' I would agree, but industries (Gaming included especially so) are always looking forward not just at what's possible now!
