Did you even read what he wrote?
Online play is severely affected because of graphical differences on players' computers (which is a real issue, mind you).
Someone playing at 1280 x 800 with no AA or AF @ 25fps and a crappy draw distance will be at a disadvantage against someone running 2560 x 1600 with 8xAA/AF and 60+fps and a limitless draw distance because they're running off 8GB of RAM.
PC gaming has no standards, and there are way too many variables...
Very nice.
Well, you WERE the Pope, until you died.
I believe you meant to address evrfighter, because I said none of the stuff to which you're referring.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1.5!!
Now with: New guns, new maps, and new perks! Oh, and snow!
NOW GIVE US 60 DOLLARS AND PREPARE YOUR WALLETS FOR THE EVENTUAL / INEVITABLE DLC MUAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The PC platform has in no way been standardized.
Your argument is null and void.
Edit: I repeat, the PC is not standardized on a hardware or OS front. There's not much else I can say to explain myself further.
@ Pope John Paul
Uh, why are you addressing me?
No, these are keeping PC gaming from growing:
- Non-standard hardware
- Non-standard OS
- Cost of continuous Hardware and OS upgrades
Edit:
It's preposterous to think that two of the world's largest companies (Sony and Microsoft) which also happen to be two of the world's largest investors in PC hardware and software are the ones holding anything back.
It's so plainly obvious that it's ONLY the total and complete openness of the ...
It's kind of hard to see amazing textures and lighting and effects in a poorly-lit snow-covered map.
Boo hoo
They both have a decent amount of sci-fi and videogame experience.
It would come down to personal preference at this point, I think.

I love this game already. The demo got me psyched.
I rented GRID because I have beaten DIRT already and I'm impatient waiting for DIRT 2 to release.
Definitely happy to see this. It was inevitable, but I'm still glad regardless.
I am honestly looking forward to cruising on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Amazing race track, tons of variety, variations in elevation, and changes in terrain types.
My favorite thing to do in Gran Turismo ever since number 4 is to take the Mercedes SLR McLaren (you know...the one with the airbrake) and burn through the NN as fast as I can.
I am shocked someone would write an editorial like that.
Also, who the hell writes "this is an an editorial blah blah" in the title of an editorial?
Buncha 3rd-grade elementary school writers. Laughable, lame, poor taste, and just plain dumb.
It's a shame this game gets lauded for its "destruction", when Red Faction Guerrilla totally trounces it.
The graphics have indeed improved.
Honestly, I really would love to see an animated film using the Ratchet & Clank game engine. Wouldn't that be cool?
I really like the demo. My fastest time on the Morocco track is 3:08.
Side note:
Eurogamer gives out more 8s than I care to count.
Translation:
2GB RAM XP / 3GB RAM Vista
2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
512MB DX10 ATI HD4000-series or nVidia GTX-series
Anything less, be prepared for crap framerates, average textures, average lighting, average motion blur, average everything.
Halo is at its best when it's fresh.
That's why I like number 1 the best, and hopefully this fresh perspective will recapture that newness.
MW2 is being lauded far too much for the rather short list of additions it brings to the table.
Relax, people...take a deep breath.
