**THIS IS NOT A FAIR COMPARISON**
I am disappointed that the author used images from an already-canned GTHD project from nearly 3 years ago.
GT5prologue and GT5proper look much much better.
This article is pure, unadulterated FUD.
Yep, I definitely noticed.
That's GTHD waaaaay back. That's not even prologue, people.
Those images are too small.
or Self-Destructoid
lol.
I know the score isn't an average, but for crying out loud, how the hell do you get a 9.7 from a 8, 1, 7, 10 and 7.5?
Psshh lol
I don't support lavish claims like this unless it's really true. All I have to do is look at this game in screens to see that it's really not that amazing. Yeah it looks good, but the level of fidelity is right at the level you'd expect for a good-looking multiplat, similar to RE5, Batman AA, or Lost Planet 2. Exceptional looking games, but among the best of all time? Nah.
The environmental lighting is just wonderful.
One of the best looking games of all time? Don't kid yourself.
Yay, real scans! Those are rare nowadays.
Those screens are too dark to really notice anything but obviously the game and especially that creature look amazing.
Gran Turismo 5 + God of War III is going to bring a record amount of sales for Sony in March of 2010.
That is respectable for them to say that about Uncharted. Fanboyism be damned.
Well, pretty much the entire gaming world disagrees with you:

Well that's good to see, then.
Any wary consumer will know that rapid price slashing is a sign of insecurity and / or desperation.
Sony has struck gold with Uncharted, and there is no way in hell this franchise can die off now. I'd be righteously angry if it stopped at 2 games.
Hey, maybe DICE can put in some real destruction like red faction instead of giving us houses with walls and roofs being the only destructible objects.
Edit: I don't know, we'll see.
In the first BC, you couldn't even destroy a whole building. You could only pick away at walls and blow out portions of the roof. Pretty lame after playing Red Faction Guerrilla if you ask me.
The only reason I'm concerned is that when the first game released, all you heard...
The DOF and motion blur is something noticed more in stills, and I can guarantee you a lesser degree of such won't be noticed by 99% of gamers while actually driving in the game.
Seems like GT5 is becoming the new bash-toy lately. That's a shame, when we all know the game looks incredibly natural and real and has a completely new physics engine replete with rollover, 200,000 polys per car at 60fps and 1080p, 128-bit HDR lighting, 950 cars, damage...lots of racing types and incredible in-car views...
I'll happily wait 'til March for GT5. Until then, Dirt 2 satisfies my needs.
